Is this confirmed to be discontinued? Anyway considering the time it will be available alot of them will probably enter the game and price will probably be like in the 1-5m range.

"Golden partyhats are a discontinued item that are due to be released during Runescape's 20th Anniversary. It will be created by combining 8 golden partyhat fragments which are obtained in a 6 week period between 22 November 2021 to 3 January 2022. To secure your golden partyhat you'll need to both be a RuneScape member and obtain 8 of a possible 11 shards spread across the game, shown below."

It'll be interesting to see if it's just a normal model partyhat with gold paint or a modern take on the model, maybe sitting on the head differently. I'd think more so the latter, but the more fashion options the better IMO. As far as effecting the partyhat prices, I'm doubtful it'd do much to change the trends at all, perhaps invigorate demand.

Yeah I think it's gonna be a different design to the normal phats we know. I'm guessing it's gonna look like the picture in the news where it's wider at the top than the bottom.

If that's the case they are better off making a new rare item, rather than a fake imitation of the classic p hats. Imo it waters down the significants of phats.

I have watched the chat from the opening post until now and in all honesty the majority is for the "ok, new phat, gonna be crap" notion.

There has been some arguments, silly ones but arguments none the less.

And last but not least there has at one point been a somewhat dominance about what this should mean.

To me this tells a lot and is that what Jagex are trying to find out because they cant just ask out aloud

Well done Jagex but you are welcome cos this problem is sorted for you, make it an everyone thing cos in reality "It aint gonna happen"

Wow just listen to you guys. "Mad respect" "Wealth and status" lol it is a game for god sake. A guess some come to the game to obtain what they couldn't irl :|

Enjoy the game guys. And happy Golden (and tradeable) phats for everybody! (that look way better than old ones too lol)

Edit: By the way, if you want to show status and power, show pvm titles. Evil Lucario is the most powerful player in this game ;)

Seems like you have a lot of jealousy and anger that you never were able to afford an original partyhat? I am just stating the truth that partyhats are the status of power in this game. They are the most expensive tradeable items in the game. Yes this will cause a dip in partyhat prices.

How is it jealousy to tell you the truth? and where do I show my "anger"? I am sorry if your ego is affected by a game. I am not the one referring to a fake phat inside of a game a symbol of "wealth, status, mad respect" lol!

By the way, I do own rares and have enough to buy a phat today if wanted to. Just decided not to do so ;) unlike some, I don't come to a game to show off "status and wealth" lmao

It aint jealousy mate, its just people trying to make others feel beneath them, never stop having an opinion and certainly never allow anybody make you feel superior to them.

That is the issue with this game, to many people who are rich think they automatically deserve to be better that you.

Sadly Jagex are cashing in on this also.

This is obvious because as soon as i went against them and this stupid gold partyhat i was abused for having an opinion.

Much love

I would have preferred they released a golden partyhat in the way BSH was released.

If everyone can get access to one, then it's not really a rare/discontinued item anymore. What's the point?

Og partyhats were obtained from a 5 minute event accessible to everyone. Golden partyhat will require rng based activites/30m gp etc to obtain at least 8 shards. In fact this partyhat will be rarer then og partyhats. What might make them common is how long the event is but still somewhat gridy way of obtaining 1.
I need my blue charms back.

There really aren't that many unique players who will get this, purely because they can't be bothered and will just grab a cheap, early release one then sit on it. It'll never be a 'rare' discontinued item, but I definitely don't see there being tens of thousands in-game.

There will be because it's extremely easy to get and you have plenty of time to do it.
