I kinda agree. But I'm not that bothered by it. People will do ridiculous things to attempt to make money for themselves, whether it be in game or real life. Meh oh well. At least they're creating a stockpile of Phats for future Rs3ers that missed the event. In that case, farm away.

People forget that the original Phats were also "farmed" and even re-mass produced. It took nearly a decade and a half for them to get to the prices we see now.

Those active now that want the Gold phat will get the hat and most likely won't sell for some time. So I doubt the farmers will be able to corner the market like they've done with other rares for quite some time. It will take years to repeat the buyout phenomena that we saw in higher rares. By the that time, who's to say RS will not be significantly altered if it even still exists?

I haven't even played this game for over 10 years. I only came back for 1 Gold Phat. After I saw all these people getting them on other accounts, I hopped on some of my other accounts and got more hats myself. I'll quit the game after the Holidays and when I return in another 10 years, my Hats may be worth something! Happy Farming.

Then why do people think Gphats are good investment? If noone cares already, they certainly won't go up later so something here doesn't add up.
You are either heavily invested in Gphats and want us to stop farming or just really care about what happens to this new discontinued rare.
For now, it certainly is the flavour of the month and should be farmed to death for easy $ now or to hold for easy $ in the future. Either way, Farm Farm Farm!!

It's a good investment... If you care enough to invest in RS currency. Most players aren't merchers and aren't looking to stack billions of GP by hoarding Gold Phats. Most will be happy with just the 1 they earn on their main.

As I've stated in an earlier post, there are those who will take this to the extreme and buy hundreds of dollars worth of bonds to create multiple alts for the sole purpose of getting these hats, we know the type already.

For those 250K+ numbers to be correct, people creating multiple alts and buying thousands of dollars worth of bonds would have to be the rule and not the exception. There is NO EVIDENCE of that. All I see are people quoting anecdotal evidence of how easy it is for THEM to hoard. More power to them. Hopefully Jagex sends them some Christmas cards.

Lol some people are proud of being ignorant but that is ok. Every rare (as stated multiple times) with a few exceptions (BSH, Holy W... you know, limited ones) were once TOO COMMON! lol

I am making fun of people with main accounts using alts to farm these hats as there are multiple methods that are proven to be better gp per hour than spending 20+ hours. And don't come now and tell me these people don't have the ability to do these methods because that would be a lie. I see some here with phats saying "I have obtained multiple already... and I am not even trying" give me a break LOL they have spent over 20+ hours doing this LMAO.

Go on, keep farming them. It won't make people who want to keep them sell, nor will it make "OG" phats any more valuable. If anything, it just devalues the existent stock. Don't see that many trades for "superior" hats anymore. Many actually selling them lol.

Edit: I mean... I don't blame people for downgrading... why would you want to have a overvalued-zero stats phat on top of your head when you can buy a beautiful golden phat for a fraction of the money, and use the rest of the money to buy BIS gear to actually play the game? Nonbrainer!


Yeah man why would someone farm phats for 200M+ an hour when they could do ED1 for half hourly rate putting in more effort, beyond me

@Magic, yes, there are many people that are not good at math apparently lol but still not seeing a 30m golden phat lmao. Some people with blue phat predicting it was going to be worthless by the second week. Not seeing that materialize yet.

@Demand, are you even doing math right? when is farming gphat over 200m/gp an hour? go back to school kid. Obviously if you are farming in multiple accounts AT THE SAME TIME you are putting effort LMAO.

What is sad about all these is that those of you who have quoted me don't realize that all your efforts might be in vain as RuneScape may not even exist for another decade lol. Poor souls spending their limited time to farm a paper hat (or currency) instead of playing the game while they can and putting 100% efforts into their REAL careers haha!
