It is still very different by every single aspect from original partyhats.
I would disagree, I actually saw a lot of people who merch for living like you say claiming that they will have impact so they can buy real partyhats for much lower price.
Partyhats started dropping after duel arena cap/removal and some prices of yellow and green partyhats are fabricated from newly created accounts with 1 or 2 posts.
I could care less, just stating some facts. My honest opinion about gold one will not change.
I still think it will be very common but price should stay relatively high because a lot of people who do the event will keep it for themself so they won't really be that much in circulation plus hoarders will do their part.
Idea of gold partyhats and gold santas are great but I'm not too sure is this the way to do it.
I would personally make them much ra

I am making several assumptions as to why phats will be devalued (note the term devalued , not crash ) Obviously they will remain a high valued item nonetheless.
1- Phats are mostly used for fashionscape. Not every player that owns a phat has self-esteem issues like the people earlier in this thread that come to a game to feel "superior". A lot of players are actually great people that help the community whether it is by helping fresh account obtain their first kill at gwd2 or providing knowledge.
2- Many players will be satisfied with the shape of the new phat, suppressing the need to spend extra 20b on a "old school" phat and using that money to buy actual equipment with actual stats to play the game. In the end, this is a pvm oriented game.
3- There is a bubble in the rare department that has not burst due to the increased number of players in COVID times and increased amount of gold
