One of the reasons why I've lost quite a bit of interest in playing this game is primarily because there lacks a sense of challenge. And this 'challenge' resonates especially when the overall size of the world is brought into question---the fact that it takes less than half an hour to venture across Gielinor, from one side to the other, in spite of all the made to be seen "challenging obstacles" such as snowy mountains, rivers, inhospitable deserts and thick swamps and forests; where some are actually impassable, and serve no real function than to appear as aesthetically appealing---which further adds to the feeling that the world is actually really small, compacted, and essentially a maze of where you can and cannot physically explore.
We find ourselves at the end of our amusements.
