I would certainly love to see the game-world expand in terms of size, and perhaps that is a possibility for the future, but for now, Jagex is focusing on enhancing the lore and overall feel and look of the game, and so something like a world expansion could be part of that, but it really does not have any immediate priority.

It would take quite some time for them to implement something like that, and I am sure they have thought about it in the past, but at the time they may not have had the technology to develop such a feature.

A world expansion may not happen anytime soon, but I would not disregard it as something that is never going to happen like a Sailing skill.

For sure want the game size to be bigger, but the world size is pretty much on the low end of the queue for need updates, hopefully Jagex can tick off the list as quickly, and efficiently as possible to release some updates that will draw a crowd, instead of just retaining its current base.

Perhaps significantly increasing the distances between settlements could re-vitalise interest in other forms of transportation which I think has declined in recent years (due to the high availability and ease of use of other magical means - teleports, lodestones, fairy-rings etc.)

Hiking over rolling hills,
Sailing across epic oceans,
Riding across vast plains,
Canoeing up mighty rivers,
Sledging down towering mountains,
Even crafting and enchanting your own carpet to fly over barren deserts.

Not to mention the increased opportunities to bring in other skills via agility shortcuts, grappling hooks or the construction of (temporary) river crossings and bridges.

Love these ideas! Make it more of an adventure!

As far as I remember the map was once bigger. There was some distance between edgeville and the monastery, and lumbridge and draynor, but maybe I'm just being delusional. Although what has ruined the experience for me was the addition of lodestones. Before I could play this game for hours and not feel bored even by just mining essence, now I'm bored after playing for an hour if I'm not doing a good quest.

When they do eventually scale the gaame to a reasonable realistic size (like many first person and third person mmos out there), They had better make a bunch of random houses, npc*, items that spawn on the ground etc like when runescape was first made.

I've played many MMO's and quit most of them. I quit RS too a couple of times but it's the only game I've ever came back to. I love RS for it's content, there is lots of it + weekly updates, which is good in my opinion. Still**** is the most crammed MMO I've ever played. How long will it take before there is no more place for new content? Adding 30 more dungeons wouldn't make sense, because eventually, the size of all the dungeons together would become bigger than the actual surface.

I'd love to see everything scaled up, making it more realistic (what am I talking about? there are freaking unicorns and dragons.) Trees are maybe only 2x as high as our characters. Rivers could be easily jumped over, mountains are like small hills, shops have the sizes of real life sheds, etc. Large and scary forests and big fields with odd trees and new monsters would make this game so much better and there would be plenty of space for new content.

Also, the teleports in the magic books and the use of jewellery and pretty useless nowadays since lodestones came out. Yes, the lodestones are pretty usefull, but I'd be seriously willing to do a lot more to be able to use them. The ability of teleporting should still be some kind of reward for your exploring or hard work in skilling or questing. Also, who trains agility to run faster and travel easier anymore? I got 99 agility for the cape, not to run faster. What other profit does it get me? Yes, I might be able to return from a warbands camp to edgeville without walking, which is nice. And yes I can make use of some shortcuts which I rarely ever encounter. Getting back to a grave when I die was already easy, now it's a bit easier maybe.

I'm willing to wait a year without any other updates for something like this to come out. A bigger map would make this game perfect in my opinion. Now I'm off fantasizing about it a little more.
