I think the only way to save the game would be to update everything in old school up to the way it was right before EoC. PREoC if you will. I feel like the game took a turn for the worse with the evolution of combat. Now given that you can't please everybody, I believe this is the only way. Forget legacy mode. Just make EoC strictly EoC. And make old school the way it was right before the EoC update and continue the game from there. That way it literally is the old school way of playing with the new features. No dual wielding or abilitys or momentum or any of that stupid stuff but still get to reap the benefits of new stuff. That would please many many people. The comunity is already split anyway. So eventually one game will die out. The up to date game without EoC is like having your cake and eating it to.
=~=~=~=~=~=~=~= please give feedback on this. Everybody=~=~=~=~=~=~~=~=~=~=~=
Ok this is the stupidest thing I've ever seen... Please just go play OSRS, they made that for people who do not enjoy EOC.

With 12k plus players now maxed and increasing fast and adding new skills to the game does not seem to be a priority in recent years, will RunseScape ever reach a number of max players where all skills will be increased to a level of 120?
Or is the ultimate goal for the game the majority of players to be maxed?
I just think the only skills justified for an extension currently are smithing and crafting - no other skill is able to use 99 levels (not regarding the skills giving passive perks each time you level up). That should be fixed first (best by a combination of introducing new stuff, like the two new familiars in summoning this year, and shifting existing stuff in the level-up table).
I don't know why we would need 120 levels, if they're not able to reasonably use 99.

I don't agree with this, skills are already challenging to train without adding 120 to all skills. It would be too much of a challenge for casual players.
Sly - Going for Completionist Cape on RuneScape 3.
The only way I would like to see a skill cap increase to 120 implemented is through having content that goes alongside it. Something needs to bridge the 90m experience gap, otherwise we should keep it at master capes.
This however would bring up the discussion if this cheapens past achievements and how this would then affect people who already have more than 13m in a given skill.
What is more likely is that elite skills will fulfill this role. However these still need to be outlined more thoroughly: what new content in terms of elite skills does the game need at the moment? Invention would for example be one of these elite skills, but it is still quite unclear what this skill will exactly entail.
I'd suggest waiting till the upcoming runefest announcements to truly get an idea of how the game is going to progress in terms of high level skilling (and how the elite skill invention is coming along).
