Regarding the activites category, this could
potentially
revive minigames due to how the new tiered system seems to work which on paper looks nice, dare I say.. promising.
However, it may lead to creating the issue which castle wars currently has on a much larger scale across the board and that is no one actually
plays
the minigame which takes away from the experience of those there
to
actually play it due to being outnumbered or games being rigged - they only stand around doing the bare minimum if they can't just stand there and literally do fuck all for the entirety of the game.
I suspect what I'm thinking of would be more along the lines of a minigame rework/overhaul rather than a comp rework. But I do think, if it was possible, having rewards or even achievements etc. being tied to active participation rather than the end result being what dictates the reward(s) that could help combat that issue.
I do have to say that the combat categories look like they're only
really
T2 and T3, especially if reaper crew is going to go straight on to the T1 category. I think it would be more reasonable to echo that forgiveness and respectful challenge of the three categories I mentioned above across the board as much as possible, especially if the intention of this rework is to make it more easily digestable and categorized than how the current system is?
Viewing the combat tiers in regards to actual combat difficulty might help in determining what goes where in regards to that particular category-maybe dividing them between each tier could be one way of going about it. Personally I don't see the logic in having kills like Solak etc. being required for what is effectively a T1 category, you're essentially forcing group content that's rampant with elitism for a T1 category by doing so which is already a barrier for some
currently.
While this does look promising and more indepth how it works,I am somewhat weary of trusting the outcome.
