Tbh I'm neither for or against most of the changes (used to this game constantly changing things for better or worse over 15 years) but hopefully my only concern won't happen due to so much negative feedback on these forums and on Reddit:
Max cape being customizable.
Smartass response is this is about the comp cape, not literally every achievement cape in the game, leave the others alone and just fuck up comp since people bitch about it so much.
As long as the Max cape remains customizable I really don't care one way or another, it's still not gonna make me do all of the quests for comp any time soon and I'm perfectly fine knowing I'm not gonna have the BiS cape because of it.
Is it just me or is almost everyone who is against this design completely ignoring the massive problems that pertain to the comp cape as well as the proposed solutions, and just ranting about how much time they spent getting that cape and don't want to lose its stats and effects? "It's best in slot for a reason!" - have you even read the two dev blogs?

Perhaps you're half right; perhaps we can't win. But we can fight.
I came back to RS3 to get a max cape , and it would suck if it gets removed.... this is just silly, i really hope this is a upcoming april joke....
hmm
The proposal looks at comp cape, sees that there's a massive issue with the way it was implemented as being literally superior to every other cape in every single instance ever conceived of, and then in an effort to fix that uproots the
entire
achievement cape system when 99% of capes had no issues, and proposes as a "solution" something that will ultimately not help bring diversity to the cape slot but instead will just change what the universal best-in-slot cape is to something else.
I will, however, agree with you that there is a
lot
of entitlement going around with the people who feel they for some reason deserve to keep their comp cape as it is no matter what, which is a deeper problem that no amount of adjustments to the cape will fix and is ultimately the core of what Jagex identifies as "problematic" requirements - which are only problematic because there are some people who feel they for some reason shouldn't be required to earn their cape by doing everything.
There are much better solutions that this proposal - in fact, I'd argue that this is the single worst idea that could have ever been presented to "fix" comp. All you need to do is break comp itself into a couple of statistically-identical capes with bonuses relevant to the content that earns them - a reaper cape would have combat bonuses, etc. And you take some of the other bonuses and spread them around to capes that already exist, give more utility to capes that already exist (shove skillcape perks into some other high-end capes, for instance), and buff existing achievement capes so that they're now competitive with comp.
Or, y'know, just give comp the nerf it needs and stop caring about the opinion of a few whiners who are going to complain no matter what happens to comp - I sure am glad that's not the majority of compers, but it sure is a loud portion of them.
Balance in all things.
I never planned to go for comp cape, but I have a max cape and planned to get my quest cape back. So for most of the proposed ideas I thought meh, doesn't effect me much, until I saw this:
The Quest Cape, Master Quest Cape and Max Cape (and their old appearances) will no longer exist in game.
Umm what?? No! This is a perfect example of creating a problem in the process of trying to fix a problem elsewhere. I am 100% against this bad idea.

Just to make you feel a little better, this post was taken from the RuneScape Discord:
This post was from last night, so hopefully we will hear something back soon!
