You'd like our thoughts? Truly? Well here's mine. I'll do my best to make it as scathing, yet polite as possible, as this is no less than Jagex deserves. And I quite hope they see this, too, because they need to know the magnitude of their mess-up more than just a simple, "I'm sorry."
The biggest buffoonery that has gone on with this pass is not the microtransactions, the play-to-win aspect of the pass, or that they gutted daily challenges to make it. No, the biggest foul-up is indeed the cosmetics. "We're giving hundreds of new cosmetics!" *BUZZER SOUND, WRONG!* That might be, yes, if all the cosmetics were unique in the way they look, but to put it simply they aren't. I understand that this is a standard process now with most MMOs and companies, to recolor outfits and bill them as content, but it's not content.
While the Yak Tracks were deplorable and moronic in their execution, they at least had outfits that were different from one another and not simple recolors like these slayer outfits, ossified whatever-you-call-it outfits, and the crypt lord outfit. Therein lies the true problem. This shows that there was really no thought to making it a "Necromancy themed" hero pass, it was just a vaguely undead/edgy armor and slayer themed pass. The only necromancy-themed items are the tombstone thought bubbles, the tools, and the conjures -- of which are earned at RIDICULOUS INTERVALS. Couldn't even do a necrolord themed outfit as a tribute to Yudura? NOPE! The fact that we got a bunch of bungled up cosmetics that honestly have very little necromantic flavor shows that this pass was not cooked up as anything even remotely related to necromancy. It was half-baked from the start and they threw in all of 10 or so cosmetics pertaining to the skill, evidenced by the fact there's NO NECROMANCY WEAPON OVERRIDES. How do you bill it as necromancy-themed and have no overrides for weapons? Also, only 1200 currency gianed in the free pass, forcing your hand into buying premium.
