It pleases me to know you are getting such obvious enjoyment from using the new word I taught you. Do you scream "GOODIES!" when your dessert arrives?
You make a very good point about MTX being optional in RS3. It is not a required purchase in order to advance our skills. I have heard of other games taking this P2W approach, and I avoid them like the plague, which is what they are to the gaming community. Let us hope Jagex never drags their games down that dark path. I've been putting out fire with gasoline!

MTX being optional in RS3 and OSRS is the only monetization thing Jagex is doing better than plenty of similar MMORPGs. Especially in RS3, if MTX isn't fair players won't be giving Jagex money and make RS3 grew 18% and then 20% the past 2 years.
On the flip side, it is subscription that is failing Jagex. Educated consumers will just look at what their $12.5 a month from Jagex, especially OSRS alone, and what they get from the other developers and publishers and easily tell Jagex subscription isn't fair value.
