It's sad to see the forums go. As an individual I have always seen RSOF as an iconic place in parallel with Runescape's popularity. The go to place for authentic news, official communications, the main place to refer to in case of issues, information about new items, item price checking, advice, lore, roleplay, collective brainstorming, discussions and debates along side Jagex Moderators, in an effort to shape the future of the game we all love for decades. All of that and more, is as equally a qualifying history of Runescape as is the game itself. To see it go is sad but understandable in a sense.
As a clan leader, my clan Titans Revolution originally founded in late 2007, was invited by Mod Timbo to participate in clan related discussions in 2010, where we became part of several clans on RSOF trying to help Jagex in shaping the clan community and the future of clans for what it was. Runescape Official forums introduced us to many friendly clans. We've coordinated and participated in numerous events relying on RS Official Forums for various purposes when clan based pvp was still a thing, nearly a decade ago.
It has been a great pleasure being part of RSOF, its sad to see that Jagex has decided to shut down the forums but at the same time, I understand that it is essential to move with the times and in this day and age, social media, particularly reddit, twitter, and discord have become the preferred mode of communication. We would still like to see the forums frozen but available for future reference.
Finally, to all the Jagex Moderators, Forum Moderators, Community Leaders and Helpers, for their unwavering tireless and thankless efforts in posting quick reliable responses, maintaining balance and order for a very diverse and global community of players new and old, maintaining the Runescape Official Forums for decades:
