These forums have been very important to me, they are largely responsible for me learning and improving my English, and through them I've met some amazing people that have had a very big impact in my life. I spent countless hours here way back then, often more than in game, and I don't regret a single minute of it.
I was here for the first version of the forums, when this was barely a black background with white text and no avatars at all. Forum activity was extremely high though, it's kind of amazing how much we did with so little. I also beta tested the forum version after that one (the one before this one, I believe, if memory serves) as I was part of the FMod team way back in the day, those were some fun few days spamming and trying all new emojis and tools to check everything worked correctly before everything was released to the public. I lost several thousand messages with the forum migrations, I had a decently high post count. Oh well!
Over time my activity in the forums kinda just became almost 0, but I've always cared about them and I'm sad about the decision to shut them down.
At least I'm happy Mexk has managed to make an archive of the forums for the years to come. I consider this place important Internet history. I'll miss it, I wish Jagex reconsidered but it's not going to happen. Maybe in the future they'll change their minds and open them again? Who knows. Probably best to not keep hopes high but I will still kind of hope.
