I had my bone biopsy on Wednesday. The surgery went well, and it was done in about 25 minutes. I spent more time than that in recovery. The bleeding has stopped, and I will meet with Infectious Disease on Monday to see what they found.

Hope you hear some good news from the doctors on Monday
And it looks like you have been quite busy making those gains in R S! Congratulations on your achievements.
Thank you both very kindly.
I met with the head of Infectious Disease on Monday afternoon, and received news I was not expecting! The purpose of this meeting was to learn what they found, and how to treat it. Over the weekend, he discussed my case with the surgeon who performed the bone biopsy on me last Wednesday. They took three good samples from my bone and discovered - nothing!
Usually when there is a bacterial infection, they can get the bacteria to grow from an infected culture within 3 days. It has now been 5 days, and no bacteria has grown from the three samples they took from me. Since nothing has grown, they have nothing to identify. Therefore, they cannot suggest which antibiotic to treat me with at this time. I figured it was most likely this infection would turn out to be residual bacteria that survived the heavy-duty antibiotic treatments I underwent last summer, or maybe a new infection. I was not expecting the result would be NO bacterial infection!
To recap: My most recent blood work showed two of my infection markers are elevated. Then I had X-Rays, which were inconclusive. Then I had an MRI, which appeared to show an infection. Now my bone biopsy has come back, with no sign of bacteria.
In short, they don't know what's going on. Aslon Dak: Still 'Scaping after 19 years!
