I edited it out because i didn't think it would be smart to put my profession on a game forum haha.
Ty for saying, I edited it out of my post.
I have learned the huge difference between Jagex under one of the world's top 3 private equity fund and a small one 15 years ago.
When Carlyle Group said they are diversifying Jagex. They meant it and made their words count in actions. Hence, Jagex is not just the Jagex 15 years ago, it is also Pipeworks, Gamepires and...
I have learned even the most old school players evolved over time too. Players who started out locking themselves alone in their POH 21 years ago repeatedly "constructing" and then destroying their construction for years are far happier to train construction the modern way with the community of a MMO in the open world when they actually are buidling things useful for themselves, the society and also the ongoing and never-ending adventure.
I have also learned only games designed with solid foundations and durable groundworks can last 5+ more years in this marketplace. There are just way too many games and new ones with better and better quality are coming very soon.
Only the fittest games built with new foundations for the future will survive.
I have learned RS3 is far easier to learn than a lot of players think. Seeing is believing. I have also learned a lot of very helpful RS3 content creators have tried plenty of fun and educational ways to show our community the trut.
As Sick Nerd who has converted from OSRS said, RS3 is E-A-S-Y!

What have you learned from RuneScape over the years that has carried over either into other videogames or even into the real world

Economics
Yes, indeed.
We learned Laissez-faire, player driven economy which leads us to random walk in RS3, and Jenga economy that takes from the grass root level and add to the bourgeois elsewhere.
One of the biggest things that comes to mind for me is typing. I don't know the exact words per minute I can type. But typing "Flash2:wave2: Selling lobbies 150 gp each!!!" thousands of times probably helped a lot with the speed I can type now.
Carry 29 Shrimp?! Are you crazy??
Carry 27 shrimp and 2.1 billion cannonballs? Now that I can do...

I have learned having higher concurrent players may look good, but not having higher number of paying consumers may lead to the diversification of the product inevitably.
