No.
I suggested saving pre eoc and bringing it out in 10 years so we could pick up where we left off in 10 years with pre sof and pretend none of this ever happened.
Like when people come back from the dead in eastenders.
Jagex said at the time that the code for OSRS was all they could find in their "backups". That was an outright lie. There is no way in hell they didn't have a full backup of game state before EoC was rolled out. There is no way they weren't using a code versioning system either.
Talk about a breach of fiduciary duty, that IP, as OSRS has proved, is worth many many millions. There would be lawsuits flying everywhere, most of the IT staff fired, oh man the tales I could tell about corrupted backup tapes and having to fall back to a 3rd or 4th (and offsite) copy.
And I brought this subject up repeatedly in the forums.
Ye I'm aware they could've had any day.
I'm aware they have 2k12.
That's the thing about runescape. It's a game of past present & future. Simultaneous timeliness in different dimensions. So I think now 10 years later we can all agree we'd rather have the bots, the flower games, the poxy duel arena than treasure hunter and battle passes and eoc and get that time machine out.
Whack it out.
Better than 2 weeks to get 200m necromancy & a hero pass and even more ruined combat.
Probably cheaper.
If we go back to Mod Jack's last few design livestreams, we should have the idea of Age of Chaos being the "end of the 6th Age" as mentioned in Runescape Remastered.
In perhaps a week or two, prelude to the Age of Chaos story will resume, and we should have a good read of what's going to happen next year with the awakening of Xau-Tak.
"An ability to shapeshift into a variety of NPCs/content."
It looks like we have very solid progression on this front.
Have anybody gone to yesterday's Santa Claus drop party event? I have seen hundreds of players showing up as snow imps, snowmen or pieces of coal.
I am talking about morphing into living and breathing NPCs who can do almost everything we can do like eating food, drinking potion, mixing potions, surging, using abilities and just about anything.
Playable races may even be possible too in the future.
I got a chance to play a couple of characters as a lump of coal and a snowman during Santa's visit yesterday. Everything seemed to be working absolutely fine, except that emotes and currency pouch were still not accessible under the transformation.
RS3 players are getting much closer to play as different races. At least we can have different sizes and heights that we were very unlikely to do with RSC and RS2 graphics. Perhaps we may see taller avatar next... maybe we play as giraffes in RS3 next?
We've been transmogrifying into imps and sheep and bunnies in castlewars for almost 20 years now. No closer to RS remastered than we are to RSC being rereleased.

Can we do a lot of normal activities naturally in other forms? We can transform into a lot of objects like coins, parcels, trees for a long time too, but this doesn't mean much to the game when we can't do anything in other forms.

You mean like transforming into unique models like Thok during dungeoneering sagas? Nothing new there. Wake me up when RS is remastered!

Absolutely not, as Thok in Fremmenik Saga is just a single player solo instance. We just show up as Thok but we are by no mean interacting with anybody or any environmental content in and open world MMORPG with the almost 350 million registered Runescape users
