Now getting a clearer picture of how Jagex is panicking in their recent moves to try to sell the company, I am actually more interested in buying them because I will be buying them for far less money than they will like to get.
Seeing June UK Bidco probably must cash in and give up control of the operation of Jagex, I can probably hackle the sale price down far closer to the $530 million they reportedly paid for Jagex.
Since I have money, I will be buying Jagex only for what they are unique for. Their 20+ years of IP is definitely very unique. Think if I can pay $100 million for all those high fantasy IP like Gods, Shadows, World Guardian etc, I can probably turn around and sell them for $200 to a metaverse company, if not billions if I can develop it into Marvel, DC Universe. Think Funcom with negative tangible assets sold for over $200 million merely for their IP, I believe RS3's IP worth far more than that in the right hands of mine.
All those technologies and ability based systems are very modern and easy for the present and future generation too. They fit nicely into other games like Final Fantasy, WOW, Destiny etc. In the very least, they are turn key system for even standalone entities.
So, my strategy will be eating my popcorns on the side now to see how Jagex scramble and crumble desperately the next few months. The Jenga will definitely fall apart, and when very few people are interested to buy Jagex, it will then be my time to force their hand to sell it to me for the price I am willing to pay for.
