Your insistence on dropping the THE led me on an exciting and epic voyage of discovery. As to why one would drop the THE when referring to a British battleship. I assumed it would be some sort of archaic and quaint thingy thingy to do with thingies.

I did not discover a conclusive answer during my 20 second quest of enlightenment. I did note, however that British sources do not use the THE, whereas non-British sources frequently do use the THE. I therefore conclude the reason is indeed due a thingy thingy to do with thingies. And redundancy in a sentence, since the extension of "the HMS" to "the Her Majesty's Ship" does not sound right.

Since the non-use of THE confers a degree of sophistication upon the user in terms of exclusivity and proper English, I too, MIGHTY CORUGI, shall not use THE in reference to BIG BEAUTIFUL BRITISH BATTLESHIPS anymore.

You may also note I did not say "THE MIGHTY CORUGI". Only uneducated grubby commoners would say that. Fifi would say that.

Nice video. I enjoyed that. The sight of that line of battleships at the beginning had me going all a Ohhh! and Ahhh! and drooling and melting into the seat. Which is now rather sticky with Corugi gloop. I failed to keep my New Year's resolution before I even made it.

I can assure you that I have no intention of breaking the 1922 Washington Naval Treaty. And those rumors of rebuilding the Corugiwaffe are complete fabrications. This is a crop duster, nothing more.
