Is there more than 1 room coming off the maze? If yes, complete the maze.

Is there only 1 room coming off the maze? If yes, skip the maze and gate the new room, you'll never have to pass through the maze again.

That's just how I handle them anyway.

Hey guys I have an idea

I've been told if you had a tough gd / ramo / mono etc the next room should be level reduced (lvl 2 monster etc). If you have empty rooms then you have tough rooms coming up also.

So after a tough room should we always open big paths first so de's aren't level reduced ? And the converse after empty rooms open smaller paths first so de's have tough monsters in em.

Level-reduced rooms with mostly level 1-5 monsters used to appear after mono, ramo, merc and spikes rooms (spikes being the room itself). I don't know if this is still the case post-eoc; I simply haven't been paying attention to it.

As for 'tough' gds affecting that, I've never seen any evidence for it. I've also never seen anything that would suggest that empty rooms affect upcoming rooms. I don't see a reason to alter current methods really.

Also yeah, this sounds like something kerr would bring up lol

@Rowun, I see that less in EOC. Also its impossible to prove or test that, and if it is true I don't see how it could be altered or used to any benefit beyond its current use as a "We're sorry" after jagex drops 3 consecutive mono's on your path.

Lol, J R Kerr... that guy still exists? I haven't been in DgHelp for ages =P Good to know he's still spreading his own delightful little theories among the impressionable community of new players looking for actual advice.

If i may suggest, can we consider on simplifying the thread rules. I find it cringeworthy for a newbie to have to read so many walls of text and memorize it for the trial floors.
I understand they don't have to do a trial on their first floor but to be honest a lot of the descriptions they can see right away as soon as they do their first floor with us.

For example, the reasoning for level requirements. You could say "refer to page 2/3 for reasoning/details" or something like that. Someone who is interested in applying does not necessarily need to know this for a trial. There are a few more that can be cut out, but as I have a pressing headache atm and need to sleep I can get back to this later.

Table of contents will help a lot, I believe.

I feel that a lot of smileys I've trialed with didn't bother to read the most important things and just tl;dr 'd it, because of the unnecessary descriptions/details added together with the requirements, and hoping for us to hold their hand and guide them. If I give advice to someone, I prefer not to have to repeat the application thread, please.

Also, perhaps lighten up on some of the restrictions, they seem to be coming off of one/small group of individuals. We didn't have a "no wearing hood with plate" rule before eoc and things seemed fine back then.

edit: @Zohan I treat them the same way, although I start by solving the maze, and when I'm near the door(s) I just peek and see if they're only de's or not, and make my decision from there. :)
