We have been trying to make the intro thread simpler and I think it has improved a lot. It's really no where near as long as it was before EOC. Maybe the explanation about the binds can be moved, but it doesn't make sense to move only that since it is relatively small. Most everything else really is important to know.

The thing that really takes up the most space is the rare drop policy. We moved the example of it to the back so that new people do not need to read that, but it is still the most long and wordy part. It is important for new people to know this though because otherwise they might just snag and bind the first hex they see. Maybe we can say something like "Before binding any drop in a floor be sure to read and understand the rare drop policy. If you disobey this you will be permanently banned."

I'll see what we can do about shortening it :) .

It's not just the ranked keyers who want to wear hoods. We've had many people argue for them since banning them and we thought they had a good point. The reason that we banned hoods before EOC was because the armor mechanics were different. Before, the hood gave negative stats and only served at hiding you from monsters. Now, the hood gives no negative stats whereas all other armor does give negative stats. EOC has changed a lot of things. Monster weaknesses are a lot more important now and armor weakens your other attack styles a lot more now. We're just trying to give people as many options as possible without reverting back to the days of some people hiding behind hoods when they don't really need it. Wearing a hood now means you die more, and I think that's fair enough.

It reminds of the times when you have a large body of text and you're supposed to highlight the most important things, and you end up highlighting damn near everything because it all seems important.

I do agree with Lys though, it could use some shortening. I'll take a look and see if I have any specific suggestions =]

Ok I've decided to resign from trialer rank. If you need space for friend list feel free to remove me from the fc as well.
This was really hard for me to decide especially seeing as I've met so many people that I like :/... But I feel the mentality that drives the decision making here have diverted too much from what it used to be, and slowly took out a lot of the fun at least for me.

I may not show it much but it wasn't easy putting up with EOC by itself because I really liked dunging with dg4fun. I really appreciate the amount of effort put into keeping the KABDE style efficient, and fair for everyone. Hope you guys succeed in whatever comes up in the near future, and when I do feel motivated to dung regularly again, I will consider re-joining. :D

Have fun everyone :)

Can you be more specific in what has changed that you don't like? We can't really fix it if we don't know what people don't like. Is it the new ranking system? The trial system? The two combat styles? The lack of armor making? Or are people giving floors a rushed feeling?

Everything is still a work in progress. We're seeing what works and what doesn't work. We change things almost weekly, so we do really value your guys' feedback.

Did some reorganization of the recruitment thread. We tried to put the basic stuff relevant to getting started in dg4fun before the application, and all the other stuff afterwards while still keeping it logically grouped. The application is now on the first page. Hopefully this will help!

I just felt that there were too many rules and restrictions. You have to do this, cant do that, but have this bound, cant have that bound, etc.

I appriciate its in the name of making floor more effiecint and thats fine, I dont want this to sound like I am telling you that you're doing it wrong because I know you cant please everyone, but for me it just felt like there were more rules and demands made of how quickly, efficiently and in what way I must play than there would be in a rush group, and at that point I cant help but wonder whats the point? Its no longer an more relaxed DG environment its an efficience obsessed one despite being inherently inefficient by being KABDE.

Its all personal preference so I am not knocking how you do it, people find fun at different levels on the relaxed-efficient scale. It just happens I find fun closer to the relaxed end than the FC is currectly situated.

The high end rush clans allow momentum and only one attack style? Really? :O Like dgs and 3bo?

Yeah I understand wanting to be more on the relaxed end of the spectrum. That's a personal preference and very valid. But if you take a step back and look at it, our rules aren't all that complicated. Use abilities and use two attack styles. That pretty much sums up the basics. Sure there is the hood thing, but that's new and seems to be changing a lot. It can also be summed up easily: don't wear hood unless you are suiciding.

Its not really 1 thing I can define such as the momentum or one attack style, and honestly I havent been in a rush clan for years so I have no clue what they would demand no-a-days so you might well be right there.

All I know is when I joined this clan originally, there were some people like me for played a slightly dated form of rushing and tended to go off alone and do my own thing, there were a large number of people who hung around together doing their rooms together, there were people who wanted to skill, pure skillers, some people didnt take part in some bosses and that was OK, oddballs like sereg who messed around with every bind under the sun, some people were just flat out bad but most of us still brought them along without issue, and dozens of other people all playing it how they felt happy, and we all just went along with it and had a good time.

Its that accepting feeling thats been lost for me, rather than 1 specific rule that has ruined everything.

Edit: I know I have a tendancy to drag things on longer than though should go on so I wont reply again unless you directly ask a question at me :)
