Out of curiosity, why boots? It was my understanding that all offensive bonuses were removed from armor. If boots still work, what about the gold bracelet? And does the blood necklace only provide the pulse effect now? Or does jewelry still grant offensive stats?

Also, with the increased emphasis on proper attack style under EoC, is an alternate weapon a good choice? Or is the difference in melee style less important then the difference in combat style?

My binds are just temporary until I find a good setup. The boots are just a filler since I had them since before EOC lol. My legs are also prom and not primal :P .

I've decided to try to get mage to work again. We'll see how that goes.

@Sereg, the gold bracelet's stats aren't worthy of a bind, the blood necklace still has the pulse effect and provides a 5.0% chance to crit on all attack styles. The pulse hits 300 in the same way it used to hit 40. You'd be much better off with a shortbow ( or hex) or celestial catalytic staff than an alternate melee style.

I'd just like to post saying I've read all the recent posts/changes on the application thread and this one as well.

Also, wanted it to let it be known that I most likely won't be very active lately. I've had some personal issues IRL come up and am unable to login very often (if at all) and would just like to make sure I won't be removed for inactivity or anything.

Thanks :)

Just out of curiosity, why have hoods been banned from use?

I bound one to check out the stats, it doesn't appear to have any negatives to offence. (I have always thought hoods in kill all was silly, but why now with eoc is it not allowed ?)

Hoods are not very useful in dg4fun.

- Most people are unhooded so you will not be piled by being the only one unhooded.
- We mostly do occults and warps which have a high concentration of mages (necros and reborns added on top of the normal mages) that will render your hood useless.
- Armor gives more life points and lots of defense against attacks.
- People get oddly attached to hoods and refuse to try life without them because they were held in such high regard by other groups.

We have had many hood debates before. One of the reasons we allowed them was because they could be somewhat useful in other styles (like rushes), and we did not want to pigeon hole anyone into dungeoneering exclusively with dg4fun. There are 10 binds now which has completely removed that reasoning. Therefore, now seemed like the perfect time to put a stop to the debate and just say no to hoods.

It used to be that pretty much everyone had a hood. Gradually we have been moving away from that and now most everyone does not have a hood. Obviously the large majority of the fc sees other binds as more useful. The only people left are the ones who will never change on their own.

So yes, the hood is silly in dg4fun.

I very much prefer for everyone to be on the same page in regards to hoods. We all have them or none of us has them. And none of us having them is clearly the superior route. All of us having them would achieve the same goals, but at the cost of a bind to every member.

Its a change that I wanted some time ago, *** the parties pushing for no hoods kept using poor arguments and were counter productive to their goals. By now most everyone has tried life without hoods, and most people will have determined that it isn't so bad without them. Yea some people will still find uses for it, but I feel like its greatly diminished in kabdes. More so in a post EOC world.

The argument for banning hoods was the same for me as the one for banning momentum. I couldn't reason it to ban momentum and not hoods. They both reflect the direction we want the group to go.

The poor arguments for banning hoods 6-9 months ago included the claim that it was a selfish bind. By pushing that point everyone with a hood was alienated from the topic and on the defensive. Now that things have died down and we can look at it from a logical view point, we feel like the bind uses would be made more useful if the slot was filled with a alternative weapon (not a 2nd melee weapon, but a staff or bow to complement your melee weapon) or additional armor.

With the skilling taking a backseat to floors now; we need to put emphasis on fighters. Kabde's have always had emphasis on fighters, and that role in floors has only been increased in floors with keybag updates and EOC.

It's simply good team spirit for people to set their hoods aside when they do floors here. It's a very simple matter of keeping it as one of your 10 binds and just not using it here. Before it asked much more of people since they had to waste a bind slot or they had to break their hood. This way people can keep their hoods if they so decide, while leaving them out of our floors.
