i feel i must apologise for trying to push the EoC without a proper knowledge of it. i neglected to add endgame combat content into my testing like the GWD. seeing as i used to ignore it in the live game, it is predictable that that ignorance would carry over when i went into the beta and im annoyed that i missed that and potentially/probably (im betting more on probably) ****** people off because of this.
for slayer the EoC isnt that much of a difference, it feels to me like normal combat except you have a tons of spec weapons that you can use if you want to but dont have to because its slayer and im high levelled and you hit pretty decent with abilities, with just momentum, or just afk'ing. But damn when you actually need to use abilities i can see the problems now.
i attempted kiln on beta (yes i know this is nothing compared to nex, but its me, im a massive nub) and i did find it rather "aww jagex, you seem to have let dr octopus back into the dev team again, but what about us people without 4 extra biomechanical arms?". angling the camera while simultaneously clicking to move with one hand glued to abilities is so fiddly i dread to think what nex is like with her crazy decorating and animations.
yes the scroll wheel does provide some assistance but you have to get the timing exactly right or you get disorientated and end up misclicking.
maybe they could add something that means you can configure which buttons control the camera so that abilities and camera controls can be clustered together at your will to make it more user friendly. or add WASD controls. just something so that it can remove the need for a third arm. i really dont want to buy a stupidly overpriced mouse to potentially pvm with friends on a game i play to relax.
and yes, i am finally agreeing that bossing in unbelievably fun
