Maybe it is time to reopen the FC to all...
On that same note, maybe it is time to re-examine the ranks as well.
A Silver star (keyer rank) when honestly there is no title "keyer" anymore really. All players or "members" rather should be comfortable enough to look at the map and with a little confidence be able to tell what might or should happen (no-one can ever be 100% sure but after hundreds of maps, educated guesses matter).
A bronze star rank for near maxed players? These members should not only get this rank b/c they are near maxed but should earn this rank imo... Most teams have at least one of these players already in the team. Does a team really form or not form because of members of this rank?
Honestly, a silver star should be a position in which they are able to step in and correct a problem (should a General not be present). Even the bronze stars should be a member in a position to correct such a problem if they are present and there are no silver stars involved.
We have a ban list and maybe it is time to start using that instead of limiting those that could potentially be the people that want to dungeon full time?
We set high standards and maybe we can reserve our "membership" spots to these people while opening the FC to the potential of MANY more people!
On the oppisite hand, we have set high standards and while floors might be slow to fill atm, we have run a successful FC that is still going strong over a year after inception. Our FC has also developed very many people with 120 in the skill... We might not want to fix something that is not broken!
Whatever is decided, I stand by this FC and have enjoyed more floors with this group then I wish to remember! :)

The entire reason the fc was closed before was because DGS came in to troll it. I can guarantee you they won't do it again.
I support a new ranking system and opening the fc to all.

We could just rename the rank to something like leader. Until all party members are good at map-reading, autogating and predicting deadends and such, the distinction between the current keyers and current fighters can be made.
Ranks could also only be for active people. By active, I mean *at least* one dungeon per week, if not more. I'm too tired to make suggestions on which rank means what if we were to develop a new system though.

Nice jab; anyway, if they're not interested in dging anymore, why're they in the chat? Ofc they're still interested in dging, that's why they fill floors for & with people! Furthermore, we're a tight knit group. Why would you want to abandon the friends we made here?
Also, why should we not be satisfied with 3 floors in at a time? Why would you look out for people that could -potentially- be a part of the fc? Just look at some of the apps we get from people; would you do dungs with them?
Besides, our dg method isn't simply taught overnight, people need to adjust and I don't see how opening the fc would help that; seems to me it'd just get more chaotic with lots of people that just come-and-go, not the type of people you want.
Tight knit but smaller or loose and bigger... I dunno, perhaps that's me. :|

Agreed with Buff.
Furthermore, some people don't like leading/feeling responsible for the party/whatever else.
Lastly, personally I think the ranking system is fine. People shouldn't hold so much value over trivial things such as ranks. Don't fix what isn't broken if you ask me.

Pokey, you are close to breaking our chat thread rules about being rude to others (ie Swiftles). Also, your tone towards the generals is rude. Please stop. If you have suggestions make them in a polite way. Try examining sn0's suggestions if you are confused on how to do this. You may also start your own fc that operates in a way you see fit if this one is not up to your expectations.
Swiftles, thank you for continuing to stick with us even after 120 dung. Thank you for filling those +1 floors that need help. We need more people like you how are here to help others and not only interested in instant gratification. Please do not leave because one person wants you gone.
On the topic of the closed fc, I like it. Not because it keeps out the trolls, but because it keeps our group exclusive. We can better guarantee the quality of floors when the fc is closed. The group is more tight knit when the fc is closed. The fc is much easier to moderate when it is closed. I do not regret closing it at all. I have seen RD's ban list. I do not want to control our group through a gigantic ban list. I'd rather have a list of 200 awesome people. Plus I don't think RD's method leads to high quality floors...from what I've heard at least.

I don't mind the FC being closed. The only time I did mind was when I was doing the boring stuff - filling out the application. After that it's pretty cool. Not as intimidating as seeing 50+ unranked people in the FC either.
I've got no problem whatsoever with people who are in the chat solely to fill +1 floors. I don't see why I would. Saves me from advertising more.

In my time with Dg4fun I've seen a few, not many, people who seem to not even want to floor with Smilies. How exactly would they manage a floor with unranked people? :P

I felt my floors with RD were always fairly high quality, just needed the right keyer(s) to lead the team properly. :P
I feel like if there's a problem with RD, it's not the unranked players. It's the unstructured way they Dg. It used to be as simple as:
"Fighters clear resources, kill things while idle"
"Keyers lead the team, open doors, call resources and get everyone going the right way"
"Skillers get your job done and help out when you finish".
Now it's
"Keyers run through dungeon calling resources"
"Fighters do whatever the hell you feel like"
"Skiller leech the whole floor making whatever you feel is necessary and continue skilling until it's time to boss"

Floor quality dropped when the structured environment disappeared. The structured environment here can't really disappear, it's set in stone. I don't truly believe floor quality would see a drop if it was an opened FC.

I wasn't attacking swiftles, I used his words and opinion to define my arguement. I don't want these people gone, but I'm not interested in having people in this dg chat with no real intention to dg.
Just disregarding my logic because you "like it this way" isn't really a reason in my eyes.
EVEN IF we keep the fc closed, some people that make it in still aren't up to par with standards we should be having.
We accept people for finding a hidden phrase within the rules. That doesn't reflect their ability to dg.
It might just be my anger talking, but I'm pretty tired of all my opinions simply being put down by majority of power.
