Selling cosmetic items in addition to XP and gold is not fine - it's worse. Selling them instead, however, is a significant improvement. Time will tell whether Jagex discontinues the buyable spins now, or whether they continue to profit by ruining their game.

Why would they want to make less money Sereg? They have proven by now that all they care about is that dollar sign.
I played a fps a couple years ago called Combat Arms. Free first person shooter for the pc. They said they would support the game through cosmetic microtransactions...think it was 6 months before they started releasing guns and such that you buy using microtransactions. I ended up just quitting because you couldn't do much unless you bought items via microtransactions. They were ridiculously overpowered.
I've heard the "Cosmetic only" line before. I wonder if jagex will make it 6 months? Or if they will get greedier faster than that South Korean company did.
Well, they started off with selling advantages, so it's not like they're working up to it. That was their start point. The hope I have now, however faint, is that this cosmetic microtransaction store is an effort to replace the earlier, less well recieved microtransactions, rather then simply add to them.
But I'm sure that's a false hope.

^Note the use of the word "currently" in the posts.
All they are saying is that right now they aren't going to do that, but they aren't willing to say "No we will never do that." in case they actually do decide to do that.
