All I see is a suggestion to make it more complicated to leave clans.

Experienced players should know better and I can't see the grouping system as the only incentive towards Jagex putting work and money into changing how we leave clan.

It's important to respect that the clan leave button needs to be somewhere an inexperienced player can find it; instead of helplessly searching for minutes.

I see no need to move anything. Accidents do happen but clan exp can be gained.

Not so much of a big deal that some elite players want their clan exp, their total exp is what matters in clan high scores.

No support.

Minutes to do something that youre not going to do often or shouldnt be doing often isnt a big deal.

Removing it all together and put off from the interface will tidy it up somewhat, the interface as it stands is definitely over crowded with unnecessary things and i personaly think leave clan is one of them.

The fact still remains. It may be easy for you to find out. Although you do not speak for all the un-experienced players who can't find it. Like when I sometimes recruit they ask how to leave their clan as they can't find it.

Moving it will only make it harder

Im not saying it will be easy to find thats the point. Making it harder is exactly the reason it should be moved.

Also moving it will not act as an incentive for people to remain in clan. I don't think the minority that do this should have resources put onto fixing it for the minority

I dont think anyone is claiming it will be

Experienced players should also be able to tell the difference between the group interface and clan.
The update would mean unnecessary work load for Jagex.

+1

Also i looked at those tabs carefully.. and its not that hard to tell what tab you are on really.. yes the icons are same but main difference between the two tabs is that clan tab has more buttons and icon and have that yellow orb thing which is next to the leave button
Also the leaving clan opens a confirm window, while grouping doesn't...
Even if the icons are changed I can tell that this problem would still persist I mean come on theres a confirmation window to leave clan and by the looks of it the people that do this are in a rush.

My advice: Read carefully, pay attention and don't rush.

The grouping opens the same confirmation window after the group is complete and similarly you can press 1 to confirm to leave.

All of what you've stated is a fair analysis, but these things do not happen during highly intense activities (Raids) where you don't even have time to think and work based on habit and instinct, especially after hours of repetitive action. You look up, find the leave button in the same place (without paying attention to surroundings and detail, or reading), and click it while holding the 1 key down. It's easy to judge when not in the same situation or in hindsight.

Obviously, you always learn after mistakes, but remain unaware until you fall into them. The issue is with the poor and faulty UI design which leads people into falling into this mistake. If a phone has two buttons with the same 'power off' icon but one locks it and the other shuts it off completely, how is that not misleading? Sure, you can read more carefully about each but it's a poor design.

What harm would it cause if it's designed better to avoid that even happening in the first place? I thought it was really silly at the beginning, but after seeing how the UI is designed I couldn't really blame them, especially if you have a strong understanding and background in UI design. It's a non-issue if it hasn't happened to so many people, including trimmed completionists, players with billions of XP and even some clan owners.

The least that could be done is changing the icon (nothing more than a quick ninja fix), or giving a different confirmation window; rather than the chatbox one (where you could press 1), a clear pop-up window instead where you need to find and click Yes to confirm. It's even better if it could be moved into the internal options, as only the buttons you use regularly should be present on the external layout.

Yep we really need like a 10 second timer before you can confirm leaving clan to catch people's attention. As it stands, it is far too easy to click confirm without thinking.

A ten second timer is diffidently a better thought of suggestion. I guess it would depend on the complications but I'm sure Jagex could see it as a possibility.

It could serve as a mind changer to people leaving clans too.

I nearly left my clan the other day lol, from the same issue raids. Was wondering why it asked me to confirm the deputy key screen, was confused and paniced....

Ive had a few clan mates now that have left or nearly left with the same thing, one of the guys was trying to get to first place in XP gainz in the clans, he was really annoyed over it. :(
