I am having my clan boycott these, anyone who uses them will be kicked and have to find a different clan.

Freaking ridiculous.

Makes the capping avatar buff obsolete too

Hardly, these suckers are gonna cost a ton and it may stack for even better speed... Least I hope so.

I mean, that seems a bit harsh. I don't know the entirely what they do, but I'm sure you still get the amount "total cap". So what's the use with banning them?

Extreme change must be made using extreme measures. These are a horrible update and a cancer to clans. We accept them, and allow them--leads to allowance of MTX in clans in the future. We cannot become okay with this.

I agree with you, but for Clan Leaders like myself who lead more social-oriented clans, it would be like kicking a family member. This isn't a feasible option for some of us, even though it would show commitment.

Lol what? I'm not seeing the problem with these...

It basically just lets you cap twice as fast: you get 2x the exp per iteration, but you also get 2x as many resources as you normally get.

This can be used to help encourage players who don't cap as much due to the time it takes.

Players can buy them if they want a quicker cap, and they can be give as rewards for clan contests or performance to help speed up someone's cap.

I don't see why people are upset over this.

I'm personally ok with them selling something like this on Solomons (especially since they allowed us to use loyalty points), but the price is far too high. For this price I would expect a clan booster aura (at a lower speed increase), not a one-off item.

I don't see these being used much at their current price/ means of acquisition, It would be of greater benefit if they was also added as a rare drop in-game (either from skilling or a drop from a monster).

Ideally I would prefer the price to be closer to:
40 runecoins / 30,000 loyalty points for 1 citadel booster.

This would allow long-term Runescape members to purchase the citadel booster once each month using the under-used loyalty points programme.

Just my thoughts,
Tiber.

I wonder sometimes how they price these things, is it pin the tail price on the donkey item?

Slightly edited my previous post, but yes Norne, I am curious on how they came up with the pricing.

As I said with my edited version, I think something closer to allowing loyal long-term members to effectively get one free citadel booster a month via the loyalty programme (30k loyalty points a month) would be much better.

Can the money made from these boosters go towards clan updates then please? Really want to see some proper updates for clans soon :|

Not sure that's exactly how the budget at Jagex works...

But Mod Kalaya stated on reddit that the success of this would serve as an indicator as to how beneficial future clan updates would be.

So, stick a controversial clan update behind a paywall, after we've heard spaghetti code over and over, and use its success as an indicator of legitimately supported and wanted clan updates.

Doesn't seem like all that great of an idea...

Can one of our current Jmod clf curators confirm or deny that what Mod Kalaya states is how Jagex is currently thinking ?

Its just the fact that if we want any kind of clan update it seems it has to be a MTX from now on, its just impossible to get any clan updates otherwise, thats what people are disappointed about.
