What causes more dissent among clans is when one clan leader tries to have how clans function changed for everyone, based on their own personal likes or dislikes

I call it that only due to the dramatic title...Say the thread was called "Citadel issues" as opposed to "Clan Citadels are evil." The one title is perhaps more accurate, but not nearly as fascinating or provoking as the latter...

A title that catches the eye isn't the same as clickbait. Clickbait has the sole purpose of generating money from online advertising, usually with vague sensational titles that don't reveal the actual content, like this:

Lol, very well, I concede. I still say the title is luring though by it's inflammatory nature. Either way, they are not evil. Sorry.

.....The time it takes to cap could be halved though.

If you just give every single clan mate access to the Clan Avatars (like we have) then you'll find that Clanmates actually want to cap because that way they can keep using the Avatars.

But with the above in mind, the Avatars are absolutely useless outside of the 3/6% XP boost. All the other Buffs they have need a rework so that they're useful on a day-to-day basis.

The Citadel in general also needs more day-to-day rewards. XP is a terrible reward and if you can't think of a good reward outside of XP then the content will die (as evidenced.)

Other good rewards/balanced could include:
- Portable, Consumable Tokens which grant the user the same buff as Avatars for 60 minutes, and stack with Avatar buffs. Allow these to be earned randomly whilst Skilling in the Citadel, or by killing Citadel battlefield NPCs.

- Physicalise supplies (like Logs, Charcoal, Bars, etc.) as a stackable item and allow Clanmates to trade it on a 1:1 basis with other players. This would allow Clanmates to cap in the Skills they want to cap, and then trade the resource with other clans to get resources the clan needs. Whilst this may result in monetary exchange for more preferred resources, this isn't a bad thing and could allow players to earn some pocket money additionally from capping.

- Add more 'deployable' Clan bonuses earned from the Citadel. An Avatar is a deployable but it's dynamic. Add some static ones. Think of things like a Portable Clan Dwarf Cannon (where each Clan can have a few cannons they can use per Clan at PvM events etc.)

The following opinion is my own and does not represent those of the clan I am currently part of:

The Citadel is a D&D, nothing more ... the xp gained at the Citadel is really not worth the time invested compared to the many other XP options available in RS. There are no rare drops, there are no drops .. and that was the way it was intended.

The Citadel is meant as a means to show what you Clan is about (sort of), if your clan has the need to be the best they can be when it comes to the Citadel then they will grind at the Citadel for little / no reward other than getting to a Tier 7 because they want the best Tier they can have and then keep that level forever and ever.

If your clan members have to be constantly motivated to particapte in the Citadel ot if they need uber xp or special drops to go to the Citadel then your Clan is just not the type of Clan to have a Citadel.

Not have having a Tier 2, 3 .... 7 Citadel doesn't mean your Clan isn't the best of the best, it just is what it is ... The Citadel is many things but Evil is for sure not one of them.

I cap at citadel each week, we ask everyone to cap the max limit on summoning which is 200, and well rest on whatever they like, so 1800 on what they want, and if they want to help out then they can ask what we need more of and we say.

We reached tier 6 citadel today along with t5 craft and summoning plots upgrades. my clan has 198 members, with were holding out on 50 members going up to citadel / cap. so i say my clan is doing awsome, since i took over back in jan 2016 when it was tier 1 citadel from the previous owner and alot of admins + left with him. oh and we always appreciate everyone capping at any amount of resources collected and that goes a long way in the end.

If you make capping at citadel more fun, appreciate your members such as hosting events, to give back then in return your going to get the same back.
