Clans will be a thing of the past just like Rune was the best in game lol... This game is aiming more towards being solo! then having any principle in my opinion

Very Disappointed that clans / citadels didn't get put on 2017 update train. I feel like leaving the clf because all i do here now is count to mod 50 post etc

The greater the number of votes the better chance at getting a reply or an update on the current situation with clans, so please get members to vote honestly.

Honestly Jamo, after a strong RuneLabs poll and 2017 Survey, I don't think a StrawPoll will have any effect.

As I mentioned, we're currently discussing it in numbers on this Discord group. We've tried all previous methods going from social media, Runelabs, CLF etc etc, and this is what we've decided to do. If we don't get any reply, then we'll have to make another decision towards our next step. However, even though this discussion is happening on Discord, if you or any one else has ideas on the way forward then please don't hold back!

I don't mean to sound extremely negative or pessimistic but I honestly feel that this will be a waste of time and only result in irritating you all even more. My advice is to let it go and focus on your clans ingame to keep them strong. You cannot depend on Jagex to save your clan, it will never happen. Period.

I cant speak for anyone else but my clan for example is going strong and I hope and pray it continues that way. The update is not to make the clan stronger but rather the process of running it smoother and that's what we want.

Also the possibility of having the code reworked and the ideas of new plots to offer members is a good thing.

Too often do I hear "I already have 99 in the citadel skills, whats the point/its a waste of time"

Pet peeve: Avatar warden cant be given to anyone under admin - So we want to make admin rank General V2 with no permissions.

Won't quote it all as there's a lot there lol, but Ray pretty much summed it up above. Most of our clans are growing strong and the updates won't necessarily make clans stronger as a community but to help run and manage clans. There's a lot of faults in the permission systems and a lot of outdated content, etc which need a lick of paint. •

That is why we all want this. Im tired of finding alternative out of game methods in order to manage my clan. We cant put it up to vote because the majority of players arent clan leaders so they dont see the necessity of it. This needs to be something that Jagex does of their own accord without a vote. Lets be honest, it was only put to vote so that it looks like they want to do something, but cant because it didn't win.

I agree that these things should not be polled, surveyed or anything similar anymore: I feel that these things have now very much been done, unfortunately to no avail, and anything more just a waste of time and waste of expectations.


I dislike reading through suggestion threads and going "Yeah I'd support that as an update" knowing that both the OP and myself have wasted time going through the thread and it's comments.
I feel a generic post should be made and stuck into all suggestion threads here in CLF, to relay on that the idea won't fly due to lack of time, resources, other update priorities, yada yada, so thanks for posting the suggestion, but don't get your hopes up.


I'm in agreement that a Clan won't be helped/ resurrected by any major Clan Updates (new Citadel plots, etc) ; these issues should only be tackled through the combined efforts of the Clans members, not for Jagex to solve.


But for the quality of life of Clans, there's a lot of systems/ permissions that do desperately need addressed and updated (mute system, more flexible with permissions for non-Admins, etc) which will make such a difference to Clans in that respect. The removal of the joining cooldown was a great update IMO and I wish for more system changes like this.
I hate that these updates are locked away behind "spaghetti code to complex and needs too many resources to fix".


This thread has a very negative vibe to it, and understandably so. After winning RuneLabs with a Clan Permissions Rewrite that was then stuck into a 2017 Survey and not even mentioned at all during RuneFest when all other aspects of the survey were, it's no real wonder why Clan Leaders who are passionate about the subject are disappointed to say the very least.
