Hey,
It's been a long time since I've played rs (lucky I could still log in) but I was emailed about the forum closure by cg and thought I might as well say hi to my old clan. I see some familiar names on the previous thread. I can't say I understand why jagex is closing the forums. I always hated social media and especially discord as I made it clear when we first went in that direction. I'd probably just quietly hang out in the fc but then again, that's what I did. Anyway, I'm not here to rant about that.
I joined the clan in... 2012? but I'd been doing penguins since about 2008 when I noticed one day this rock walking around yanille poh. Found out what it was and yeah. Back then, getting lump sums of xp was a big deal. We had to grind for our xp unlike you young whippersnappers nowadays. Also back in 2008 there was a popular minigame called the great orb project (rc was painful back then too and those teletabs were a godsend). W60 became my home world because I played that so much and that was the world people played on. Eventually, I noticed people were gathering around penguins a lot on that world. Found out there was a fc. Helped out a little bit now and then. Figured out you could move these penguin things around by watching other people do it. Learned the basics of herding.
In 2010 I took a break from rs but came back the following year. Obviously, one of the first things I did was check up on the penguin situation. I ended up helping out more and more regularly and eventually got "noticed" (tm) by cg. Now you have to understand. Up until that point, I had no idea there even was a clan or group of people behind this trapping business. I had always thought they were randoms like me spending a bit of time helping out. So it was quite a surprise to learn of the existence of this shadowy cabal of
penguin agents
herders let alone that I was being recruited.
