Bump, and currently reading stuff since I was last about.

Original message details are unavailable.
Quests like the one released yesterday are wonderful: One more penguin to be found and somewhat improved scaling for penguins and the circus as a reward.

I wish they would do something like this more often: Extending functionality of minigames and d&ds by completing other content.

Very much agree!

Less content released, in any part of the game should be stand-alone, and it should be a priority for new content to help the most struggling content (instead of harming it).

The Great Orb Project:
- Redesignate a world to be TGoP-themed

For minigames like GOP, a designated world could make a big difference?
Even if it is a single world for multiple named minigames, this could help players find teammates/competitors.

Just yesterday it was challenging to find anyone to play with, despite GOP being spotlighted.

Of course, it could partly be interest or lack of, but hopefully with thousands of players online at any one time, there must be half a dozen up for a game? :)

World 60 used to be the GOP world, but I guess they figured more people were doings penguins than GOP so they changed it. World 62 wouldn't be a bad world, since no one plays Stealing Creation on that world.

I'd suggest World 60 since that'll still be in most people's minds. Penguins and TGOP probably won't compete for players, right?

If it's a Gop World, it should be F2P - Gop is F2P too, and P2P'ers can play on F2P. (the majority of Gop-play was always on F2P, even for Membership-holders.

As for worlds I think we should have both: Members have an advanced route and thus should have a place to go on spotlight as well (as the 'regular' spotlight world fails to do that for some reason in contrary to a fitting theme world). As a further improvement the p2p world should make use of something they already did for the sinkhole world: Designate it to a minigame as well as a thematically fitting d&d (in this case sinkholes and shifting tombs) - which helps to make use of a theme world while the d&d isn't up. All in all this would be:

F2P: GOP
P2P: GOP & Rune Goldberg Machine (which would perfectly work with one another as they even are in the same place)
Improvements: Tooltip / (F2P) QoL v2
Quick Fixes: Invention

Some minor xp for motivation sounds nice but xp for assists sounds hard to implement.

Would it?
Make it so that the last 2 or 3 people who interacted with an orb get the xp.
The orb must actually move for it to count as a "interaction".

Also, I have a idea for burning Vyrewatch too. Remove the trimmed Rune Sets from the loot table, and replace them with
Golden Barrows Ornament Kits
which can be used to turn Barrows armour into their gold variant.

Given that the essence is already given out based on overall, and relative scores (combination of the two), it would probably be better (and far more simple), to just turn the xp-multiplier for crafting in Gop, from 2x (~3kxp an hour), to somewhere from 60-120x. This would add an incentive to play when there (or at least: allow your team to play), and would encourage people to use Gop for the rewards, as it wouldn't be so far behind other methods (so getting rewards from there, wouldn't work out as too inefficient).

Such a change was said to be a 5 minute job, by Mod Crow, back on a 2010 thread (we were only asking for a small increase, back then); unfortunately he was not in the right department to do it, himself.

If they're going to relate something to scores, it really should be the tokens, tbh - that would be simplest, and (for team work) fairest, to just go by team score (yes, some can AFK and get reward, but won't get as much by doing that, unless they play with pro players, who will charge them, and that keeps both AFKers, and mercinaries, away from the main games, so is win all round. + it gives Goppers a fairly reliable source of income, and reason to improve.. as they'll get more pay, for more tokens, and people will always want tokens, if the rewards are good enough).

-tries to come up with a stronger link between Livid Farm, and Gop-
-checks RGM World location-
(cannot find)
-wonders what to do next-

I would say 135 for F2P Gop, as it was the most used, recently, but it's EoC only, now..
Before that, other than 61, the most used by actual players, were 134; before that was 169 and 165 (with one group based on 181, while that was up).

17? I know they use it a bit, but it's also a non-activity-label, atm.
(34 tends to be bad ping, or was, even for most States, so not there).

I think both F2P & P2P would be nice - it's just that if it's just one, then F2P is a must (as it leaves no one out). Tbh, even during the period when there wasn't a P2P w, but 61 was labeled, a large proportion of (non-Gopping) Members were claiming there wasn't a W for it (having not thought to check F2P).

I think a nerf for the effort needed to obtain the RC set was in order - it simply was unfeasible to go for it if you just wanted to achieve skill mastery - but I wish the rates for someone at level 99 in the span would have been achieved by playing GOP for each piece. And the current GOP rates for the span

Tbh, they were reasonably priced. What needed fixing was the xp obtained while Gopping, so that you weren't falling behind in xp, by getting an xp-boosting item.

If they'd been any cheaper, they'd have not required enough time in the game to even pick up the most basic concepts (tbh, it usually takes someone about 700k+ tokens to get them down, and start concentrating on the advanced stuff - was more like 1m, during the time information on mechanics had to be self-discovered, rather than handed on a plate, from the get-go).

I respect your opinion on that, it just was some thoughts of mine: I simply do not think it does feel good when your character already isn't doing anything anymore, but you're not even able to queue the next action, same thing with players practically (leave out a crystal mask/light form combo, that really shouldn't be needed for a low leveled activity) using everything to increase their thieving chance (it is not just the level, it is also a massive bonus through equipment) and still being able to fail multiple times at urns in the level 21 room (which I was opening a lot recently in the search of that gem). I do not think it is too bad when it still happens occassionally in the rooms intended for a players level (or even rarely in a low leveled room), but something like this makes me rather dropping back to conventional thieving.

I wonder if it's doing some form of Civ III Ghandi.. and the values boosted so high that they end up back at the bottom (due to a looped system).

6) Staves can be "fed" pure essence. They can contain 18 essence at a time. They function identically to pouches, but they do not degrade and only work at their respective altars. (Omni works at ZMI altar)

Wow! An idea I've not come across, before (I think).

Certainly support this.

Other useful rewards would be nice, like longer life pouches (maybe one that makes all pouches last the same time, but uses the average, so you can repair in one go..).

Something that boosts you Vis Wax allowance, or similar.

I am concerned that there isn't always enough of a rune sink, with VW.. perhaps adding something that allows benefits from sacrificing some types of runes, be a reward, too..
(that would also allow there to be rewards that boost rune production, as well).

It would be nice if there was a useful item for bossing, or PvP, from Gop (Gop used to have some of the best PvP gear for low lvls and F2P). Death's Store unfortunately took several ideas that were suggested for this niche (like Aura recharge/reset/extentions).

Perhaps imbuing for high-end mage gear, to give it a small buff..? Or maybe for Melee armour, to make it a little more magic-resistant than standard (nothing major, but enough for it to be worth it to try).

There are many other ideas, but sadly they tend to get given to other content.

Agreed.. I miss the TB crowd.. They were a really dedicated community, and mostly very nice (some were oddballs to that, and tended to give a bad impression, to some, but most were nice).

Poppy's threads were great, and it's a shame she had to give up, after 7 Years keeping them going.

So many old threads have gone in the last 3-4 Years, along with all their ideas, JMod posts, and records of defaulted promises.

anyone's every bought one in a decade or so
I have!

I agree that upping the prices (at least on anything but the flags), now, would probably not work (even though it's correct that the original discount was what caused TB to die out (though 'die out' still meant 100 or so ppl playing every day, for a fair while after).

New rewards: Yes.

Sabotage: I think an option for it (popping up at start), or a time limit (only allowed to do it near end), would work best, as it can be fun, if done by both teams, as part of play, and not done to just troll. (Clan v Clan, or in-house games are usually fun to burn in, and everyone enjoys).
