I understand there are players that lag, players that hate pets, players that don't care about pets, but I don't think the "bill" for this should therefor automatically go to the players who like them. Again, for the record, I always respect the wishes of those around me and if I'm bothering someone, I'll do something about it. It's common decency.

But this thread suggests that others should have the final say in whether or not you are decent in their view, and that's imo a line we should never cross. Again, players should be free to express themselves within the limits and parameters set by the developer of the game in which ever way they see fit . If they feel like having a big flapping drake out for the world to see, that's their choice. They unlocked it, they can use it, for whatever reason they see fit.

Pets are a part of the game, whether you like it or not and whether they make you lag or not. You do not have the right to tell others how to behave or express themselves, just because you have a problem with it. You don't set the rules, Jagex does, and I hope they understand that this suggestion is a slippery slope. Be the change you would like to see in the world.

So if the developer liked this thread, and set the parameters to help those put in laggy situations because of pets, you'd support it? But because we suggest it you dont?

You dont seem to understand, if I turn my settings ON, to hide your pet from my view, that you wouldn't even notice if I never told you.

And you still seem under the impression that EVERYBODY will use this, meaning if implemented that nobody would ever see your pet again, which is absolutely false. And even if it were true, if everybody were going to use it, that's massive support for this idea.

You paid for a pet with abilities, nothing about the advertising mentioned showing off. Even if you bought it to show off with, similar to you saying you have the decency to help people out if you are bothering them, they can have the decency to look if you asked them to, instead of forcing them to look 24/7.

If you think this is just about pets for me, you're missing the point completely. It is much more than that, though perhaps not many would see that deep into it.

The suggestion is as radical and rude as those who would have their pets out only to spite you, but you don't seem to be willing to see that. All this does, is turn it around. It "fixes" nothing.


Warning: the following goes deeper than the topic deserves.

I realise this is a very mild variant, but it's still somewhat putting your issues on the shoulders of others to bear and I can't support that behaviour. Imho, it breeds nothing but weakness. Victims that can only function if the world around them bends to their needs, not only acknowledging their own shortcomings further, but also announcing it to the world. Why would you ever want that? I know many people who've had an extremely tough life and some are among the strongest people I know, because they don't give up, they face the challenge head on. It's so inspiring to witness that willpower! The true heroes of our time. Be the change you would like to see in the world.

I'll repeat myself. You wouldn't even know I have the setting on. It's not possible for you to know if i have your pet hidden to me or not.

Or somebody else's pet if you want me to use them instead of you. Unless I actually tell you I have the setting on, you can't even tell.

Just like Urek said, people paid for some detailed cosmetics, that aren't fully appreciated in their full glory because people have their settings lowered, to compensate for something negative coming from those settings if they were higher.

That same argument applies here. Pets bother some people, so a graphical setting to minimize damage on our side only, while nothing is changed about anything you have out, set, or anything. You are exactly the same whether we see it or not. How can you act like you would get offended by something you wouldn't even be able to tell a difference on?

I'm not offended by anything, please stop using buzzwords just to try and make your argument seem good.

Like I said, agree to disagree, move on. No hard feelings, alright mate? I'll still put my drake away for you if you ask me and I still won't support this suggestion. Be the change you would like to see in the world.

I don't want you to have to put it away at all. That's why I support this. Right now people have to ask for it to be hidden, hoping the owner is as nice as you.. 90%+ of the times, I doubt they are. So we get forced into seeing them now.

That's why we want the toggle, for ourselves only. You wont need to put it away and we wont need to ask you to. Just a simple option to erase that hassle.

Indeed, I said that as well in my post. Thing is, I was just explaining why I won't support it, as that was being questioned. Nothing else, really. I don't have a problem with how it works right now. Be the change you would like to see in the world.

Theres plenty of crap that works fine that I don't think needs changed, but if something about anything I use is a problem to other people, I'd at least consider a suggested change, instead of saying no support just because it doesn't bother me.

Aside from that, the only nonsupport to this suggestion comes from people who want their dollar to matter more than anybody else lagging. And I say that's just rude.
