Both you guys need to give it a rest already. I've stated my reasons for not supporting this multiple posts now and you didn't want to understand, that's fine. If you don't agree, that's fine.

I already said twice that we can agree to disagree and leave it at that. Now please stop taking jabs at me and let it go. Be the change you would like to see in the world.

I apologize if my posts seemed like that to you, I more so was trying to imply most people arent as nice as you, to put their pet away when they have it out for something just to help the people who asked them to.

I just dont want anybody to have to ask, and not have anybody have to stop using their pets anytime ever again. End the hassle, y'know?

Yes, I totally understand your point of view. I understand this is a solution to you, but I still can't agree with it, because someone is still paying a price, it's just not you anymore.

Whether or not this is a better way to approach it than the current situation, is an interesting discussion, albeit a highly subjective one. Be the change you would like to see in the world.

As a Drake owner I support this.


When I have my Drake out I set its appearance to "child" in the pet menu, shrinking it to the size of a Chicken so it doesn't interfere with others and I don't accidently click it, but I can still use its adult abilities.

I cant tell other big pet owners to do the same though. of the elves

I understand you think people who paid the dollar suddenly lose part of their dollar when not everybody is forced to see it. So you say because of our suggestion, that they are paying the price.

What about the people who never wanted Drakes? I never supported their release, I never intend to buy one. I don't care who else decided to buy it, because I pay the price by lagging everytime one comes around me.

Call it subjective all you want, an optional toggle that only prevents lagg is a fix, whether I tell the owners I have it on or not.

Unless we specify that, no owner would possibly know I can't see it. They don't have to put their pets away for my sake, I don't have to ask them to, they can use it, and I can play in peace. Nobody then has any reason to complain.

It's a fix with no downsides. A dollar shouldn't be enough to justify making people lagg.

The problem with your argument is that Jagex has the final say in what happens with the game and what content it will have. Drakes were added, therefor, they are now part of the game. THE GAME, not YOUR game.

Like I said, I'll always put my drake away if it bothers someone, gladly. Subjectively, I don't care if my drake is visible or not to others. I don't care about bragging rights or whatever. While my opinion will always be subjective, I don't approach this in a subjective way.

Objectively, it's irrelevant that you're laggy or you don't like drakes. The game doesn't care. The game simply has content approved by developer, it has minimum specs approved by developer and you are welcome to play the game within its set boundaries and perimeters.

It's not YOUR game and this is why I say time and time again, you don't have the right to take content away from others, even in such a harmless way, because it crosses a line. It makes it so that YOU, as a player, get to choose what other players can do with their content.

It's as ridiculous as standing at the front door at work, demanding everyone with blue sweaters to take them off before they go inside, because you think blue is ugly and makes your eyes water. Come on. Be the change you would like to see in the world.

Objectively speaking. This toggle is a win/win scenario. Jagex can approve it and likely will at some point. As you have probably heard by now, they specifically asked what people didn't like about the Combat Academy, and people responded with Pets. Therefore they made that locale exactly as we suggest here.

Only problem is, they only made this fix localized to one miniscule location instead of the whole game, and they made it forced instead of optional. What we suggest is the best of all scenarios for the entirety of Runescape.

Your opinion seems to be that of a Jagex Fanboy, who only approves of something once Jagex does. Because whether or not you agree that this is a fix, you won't support it unless Jagex does it. And being conservative like that is a great way to get nothing done.

The only subjective part of this discussion is discussing pros vs cons, which like I said earlier, the only cons come from people who want a dollar to matter more than laggy players. Minimum settings arent perfect either, depending on the user's CPU they very well may still lagg, which can be further prevented by updates like this. But that wont happen with people who refuse everything for personal reasons.
