If we all follow the trend here that jagex is taking...I have a feeling that this new axe is going to be one of those that are similar to the process of One Small Favor...anyone remember that plague of a quest?
Getting the EaS pickaxe was easy, but also a thorn in the side, especially with alllllll those extra steps.
What I really don't understand here is why not just let us create a hatchet out of necronium and make the crystal hatchet t80 and this new variant coming out, t90?
I think that would honestly be more feasible...but then again, what do we all know? We're not programmers and we're not feeding the DEV's some currency to make this update. (insert troll face here)

I do have high hopes for this, but making a t80 hatchet is literally a slap in the face as I said earlier on page 1.

Because we are getting closely related episodic content in RS3. We don't blindly go out to random location to do random things for random missions and call it an MMORPG. In RS3, we have stories and players are not just aiming grinding random missions in RS3, we exist and live as the World Guardian and Duke of Forinthry in RS3 whenever we log into the game.

What the person I replied to wrote:

"Again lore and Necromancy are not mentioned in the woodcutting section, so a connection is an EXTREMELY far stretch."

I clearly pointed out we are getting a Woodcutter's Grove and a WC buffing building in Fort Forinthry: Necromancy. The connection is clearly there.

I replied to Knight Scope only, not you or anyone else. I don't know why you (who only had 3 posts on the RSOF with last one from months ago and clearly couldn't have anything to do with my thread) brought up yourself and "anyone" else. Thank you for your comment and I will wait the comment for the person I replied to.

As the original poster, you can change the subject and comments as you wish and since you brought up the subject, by the rules of decorum I am allowed to respond.

Where I post, when I post, why I post, and how often I post are nobody's business but my own.

I read the forums daily and only post when I see someone being rude, and your right; I should post on
your
threads more often.

And since
you
brought the discussion up, then what by
your
rules is the minimum required posts to be able to comment. Is it
your
rule or Jagex's. Does it apply to
your
threads or is it a general rule?
You
seem to think
you
set the number so inform us all.
You
also state that I clearly can't have anything to do with
your
thread so now
you
think
you
determine what I can "clearly have anything to do" with?

As for the Woodcutting building, other then its location; has nothing to do with Necromancy then the church, workshop, town hall, command center, or even the kitchen other then that they
all
are in the fort.

I wonder if 'dead and buried' will have something to do with the hatchet? ('bury the hatchet')
That's cool though, it's been a while since woodcutting had an update (that i remember)

Mod Jack's comments on Reddit and his Design Q&A livestream the past week tell us devs are told to include stories in updates. The new bis hatchet is going to have a story, although I don't think we bury it. Maybe it is some legendary axe from some first age hero, or it can also be made of the new metals and alloys discovered in Stormguard and Warforge.

When it comes to skilling updates, tying "lore" into them probably shouldn't take as much precedence as Jagex is seemingly indicating it should.

For example, Where did the Elder God Wars Dungeon anima need to be tied into the Dinarrows from the Fletching/Firemaking update that else wise was tied to Anachronia and Prehistoric Potterington and friends?

Then you have Trindine send us on a meaningless diversion to Al Kharid to learn about the most recent update to Farming even though it had nothing to do with the Zamorakian Civil War that was taking place in the Wilderness.

Are these updates probably necessary from a gameplay standpoint? Perhaps.

Just put them into the game. When it comes to skilling tweaks, players will eat them up without silly lore justification.

All we know about the Woodcutter's Grove is that it is an addition to Fort Forinthry in some way. As a skilling hub with neat gameplay features this is great - but does it need to necessarily have a connection to necromancy just because of the area it is in and this nebulous tie-in we're all aware of outside of the game at the moment?

You sold a majority of players with the title on the tin. "Oh, hey, did I just read tier-80 axe? I'm in."

Marketing dictates the general direction of updates we see, the devs are given their freedom how to implement them but they follow the direction of marketing who follows the wallets of the real world consumers.

Trindine is far more important than you think. She introduced us to the deepest part of the Shadow Realm and corrected misconceptions like Sliske knew much about the Shadow Realm. Trindine also narrated Zarosian Mahjarrat actually don't all follow Zaros.

The T80 hatchet is a reward of the Woodcutting update. It is not the entiere Woodcutting update. Why is there a problem telling us a part of the reward of an update?

The current hatchets got me to level 99, so why do we need anything better? The game just keeps getting easier and easier.

I don't think WC will get easier. They are re-adjusting WC xp rates. We also don't know if there are going to be new trees or WC content we need the higher tier hatchet either.

Remember, we got the T90 pickaxe together with other mining updates but mining hasn't been getting easier and easier. We are probably in a similar situation with WC soon.

Mining hasn't been getting easier and easier? I remember when filling an inventory (28 slots) with runite ore took about half an hour, and god knows how many world hops. How long does an inventory take to fill now? A few minutes, and even less with stone spirits. Mining has become laughably easy.
