This tax has ruined all my plans.
Probably the gameplay and plans of many others too.

Is it fiscally worth it for Jagex to keep this?

I was getting ready to spend over 300 USD on 10 Bonds, 450 Keys, Double Keys and after spending all morning and half of last night spamming World 2 GE for an item, i have to ask myself -

Are you stupid?!?!
You really want to spend your gametime merching to try to see a return on your investment?

NO!
I want to play the game! I want to quest, earn achievements, level, get capes.

NO!
I wont spend that kind of money on what the game is currently.

Where is the playerbase since the tax?

RS3's playerbase took a hit for those that are off doing FSW but it was still enjoyable to play.

Now, it seems to have taken another hit since the tax. Seriously. I play a lot of hours almost everyday, and the decrease in actively-playing population is seriously noticeable.

I suggest having a Jagex Employee get on an unmarked account and let them experience first hand how much fun it is to spend hours in the GE spamming for something that may never happen.

I want a Pernix Quiver. They were approximately 130M gps on the GE prior to the tax. Now, they are 136M or more. Why the increase?

Well, someone could blame merching, but thats not it. The seller is trying to get the buyer to pay the tax while they still get their pre-Tax price for an item.

Please Reconsider! Please Repeal the Tax!

Its hurting your business.
Its killing gameplay if we need to spam sell items every minute we are in the game.
And therefore, hurting your players.

I know there are those that will say its not going to happen. Get used to it or get out!

To them I say, you get used to it! If things dont get better ingame, I wont need an invitation to get out. The tax has already blocked access to my spending money.

So you're going to buy 10 bonds (worth what, 700m gp?), but can't cover a 6m gp price change. Okay.

I suggest you spend some time bossing or, if that's not your thing, skilling, to make up the difference. I mean, I'm making 2m just from one farming run a day, it's not that hard.

And I suggest you worry about your own gameplay, or lack thereof. Im a big girl and know what my options are, as Ive stated.

If you are suggesting that Jagex doesnt care enough to Repeal the Tax
for players like me, thats fine. I have already seen videos where they claim that are only interested in keeping their longtime players, and if their long time players enjoy being taxed - then cool, Archa.

To your negative reply, as it relates to new players like myself, I say -

The new player is dead! Long live the much beloved tax!

Afterall, Archa,

P.S. You used to could make 1.5M an hour killing chickens, but now you need to reduce that by 2%. Everyone knows you wont mind.

Do you care about those that havent been playing since forever, and there ability to get a foothold, or would it be better for them to take their cash and play elsewhere?

Not caring about new players can be fine at the moment, but at some point that stategy needs to change if anyone cares if the game survives. What has always been was not designed to last forever - at least not in real life.

Interestingly, the example you gave, the pernix quiver, is actually 17% cheaper now than it was in September. The price started to increased on December 9th, which was a whole month before the GE tax came in.

The 2% convenience fee falls very much within the tolerance of each items natural price variation. There is zero evidence that this fee will affect anyone's gameplay.

So far, there is zero evidence that this fee is harming the game.

Are you suggesting that my experience is a lie? Its not true that it was just on the GE for 130M and now is over 136M?

My experience is not evidence of the tax causing inflation?

Is that what you think?

All the Quiver does (as far as I know) is save a ranger an inventory space IF they want to carry a second type of ammo. How much is that really worth?

I didn't say you were lying. I indeed agreed that the price is going up.

But it has been going up since December 9th, and that was way before the convenience fee came in.

You are complaining about two things that are not linked one iota.

Thank you for the clarification, A Cole.

Its not possible that anyone began raising their prices in anticipation of the well announced tax?

I would be the first to say I dont know every little thing. There is plenty Im still learning, and this game has such extensive content that its a life study.

Im not complaining about two things. Just the tax and its effect on the game - which we clearly view differently.

Im sure Jagex can live without me spending extra real life money. I know the bulk of its player base probably spends a whole lot more than my mere $300 purchase.

I also know that in games a lot of people dont bother to point out observations like this. They just silently leave. Its sad that no one misses them until after they notice they are gone.

This is my observation. Less players than after the initial drop with FSW. Items on GE moving at a much slower pace than normal. Prices rising. Its real. And eventually, as more and more players relize what is happening, they will either raise their prices too or find something else to do.

Im sure A Cole and Ruby Red0 can be satisfied to agree to disagree. Thanks for your opinions nonetheless.
