Saying flatbacks aren't useful is exactly the same as saying potions aren't useful. Flatbacks can be put in a player's POH and become useful items. We don't have to wait for the future.

If you already agreed with me, then you agreed flatbacks are very useful in many places and not just for skilling.
You know damn well that flatpacks are single use items when it comes to construction. Nobody needs multiple, yet they will need multiple runes/potions/arrows/etc.

Flatpacks are very, very, VERY limited in what they bring to the game. They should be the area of focus when creating new Construction content. I've already gone into how they can do this.

What? I have multiple chairs, beds, bookcases etc in my house. Single use?

Flatbacks bring a lot of materials and skilling components and gp to the RS3

RS3 has already created a lot of construction content. We have all kinds of player owned content that give us a lot of unique products. We have Construction Contracts. We have Iaia training. I've already gone into how they can do even better with all sort of player owned content RS3 has that few other games can even match.

With the next update to Fort Forinthry being the Kitchen, you can pretty much nix the idea of updating the PoH Kitchen.

- new range close to a bank chest
- the ability to make POP soups in the kitchen
- XP boost in the Kitchen
- ability to place portable ranges in there (ONLY ranges, and again close to a bank chest)
- food supplier that is likely a lot better than the PoH larder AND various shelves
- not to mention being able to cut thru cobwebs at 100% success

Flatpacks are one of the power training methods for Construction.
Yes, some flatpacks have use. If you don't have the level to make certain furniture, you can buy it as a low level and install it now rather than waiting who knows how long. Typically for things like Marble/Magic Cape Rack and mahogany costume room furniture.

Given the outdated nature of the PoH, I wouldn't really call some of it stylish. Like the Ornate Bed or Ornate Kitchen Table.

As A Cole pointed out, the other main use for flatpacks is to disassmble.. Qty 2 components, pretty much just junk, simple, or crafted components. So one way to get bulk simple parts without disassembling bulk ore or logs.

flatpacks may be useful but more of a one-time use. after you have finalized your house they are not needed. it is a shame because there is not a good fix for them, like it would be bad if your house furniture could degrade and you constantly needed flatpacks to upkeep them. they're so cheap because there's much more supply than demand for obvious reasons Buy Zemomarks / Chromatic Partyhats safely here

Eventually you may find almost all the ideas of updating POH should be nixed, as Fort Forinthry is just the much better player owned content than POH.

^ yeah. Fort Forinthry added the Guard Tower with yet another collection of PvM/slayer buffs.

The upcoming Woodcutter's Grove will add a T80 woodcutting training method that will also bring out a T80 hatchet (Imcando most likely).
So can scratch that off something for the Construction rework.

Construction in OSRS fixed literally every issue RS3 had with the skill and then some x10. Considering I mainly play that now I am satisfied. Is solo/single-player (POH) Construction effectively dead in RS3 now?

To be fair construction in OS there also is rather irrelevant before the 70s - sure you can get some slight QoL feature here and there, but all the interesting things (superior garden, nexus, gallery) only start from 70 forwards - rather 80. And they certainly don't go all the way up - 95 has the final cool thing with the spirit tree and fairy ring combo.

That certainly was done better by the fort. You're getting something new every 5 levels (and even less later on) - and this happens over all the 99 levels we have - not exclusively in some 25 levels window OS has included a few things, that just didn't existed back in the day - since... why would you even want to get to 99, but for the cape? And obviously - RS3 has a lot of overworld construction - OS has its STASH units for treasure trails, but in RS3 you can construct lots and lots of things in the overworld to access content or make things more convenient (and if it's just something as minor as having a rope rack to access the waterfall dungeon). It's just not the POH, that is...

At least both games fixed training that skill meanwhile - OS with mahogany homes, RS3 with portable workbenches (yeah - MTX, but...), construction contracts and now the fort. Cool features can't compensate for awful skilling. And getting to those levels with POH construction... ouch.
Improvements: Tooltip / (F2P) QoL v2
Quick Fixes: Invention
