speaking of FE, i always imagine my character in those games just to see how he would interact with the others and how the other characters would react to his actions. helps me greatly with fine tuning his personality

No way, I do that too with my characters! (here and in RPs)

Maybe 'reset' wasn't the best word for me to use. It's just what we have going seems like a kind of 'next generation' kind of thing, rather than a continuation of the older mythos (FFA, absolutes etc.) that still takes place in the same multiverse but is an independent storyline, and i was just trying to kind of encourage that but now i think about it, that's basically what we've been doing all along, so...

yeah, just ignore my post it was stupid XD

I have a couple of ideas for story arcs- one is some kind of tournament, although I'm not sure if we really have enough people here for that. The other would be to introduce some kind of villain npc. Or there's your time-travel idea - would that be an alternate timeline then? could be interesting if the two timelines clashed and we got two versions of each character that have had different experiences and losses

perhaps we should just keep going from where we are, though some kind of "alternate timelines" thing could work, considering how much a single event can change a person

and yes, forum fight is nowhere near as popular as it used to be. pretty much only us, ashlin and master1 now, other than the occasional one-poster

about villains, this is how i wrote my character. while he cannot be tempted in any way, he can still be misled and derailed, which can still cause him to end up on the wrong side (besides he cares not about anything if he succumbs entirely to the corruption). leaning somewhat between anti-hero and villain you could say

sheesh, and this comes from a thread that started with "i punch you" and "i punch you back"

*punches random npc in the face, just to make sure there's still some fighting going on*

I actually just got an idea for a story from that post earlier from the ultra-veteran Solid Bran. Don't think I've ever actually seen a post from him before.

It involves monsters. Trust me, it links together.

(OK, so here's my post. Feel free to decide how much time has passed between the fight with Xox and these events, I imagine it could be anywhere from a week to a few years)

---

Absolute Monument

Birdsong, the rustling of grass and the howling of wind. These are what a young traveller hears over his own muffled footsteps as he wanders through an old field.

Now he is at the foot of some ancient hill. Pulling his green cloak over his face to shield him from the elements, he begins the flight of stone steps before him. Reaching the hilltop, he takes stock of the sight. Four large structures, not unlike monuments. The place is seemingly deserted, aside from a few scuff marks on the trodden ground indicating someone was here recently. Whether they are still here or have gone off to some other destination is unclear. If they’re still here, they’re either hiding or have not taken notice of this trespasser.

He leans forward to examine the worn engraving on one of the stones. He sees a name he recognizes, not as that of a friend or acquaintance, but of great renown throughout the lands he has travelled through. The other three bear similarly famous names.

---

Wilderness Cave

Silence. A lone warrior rests and contemplates in solitude. A solitude which is very rudely broken by the sound of clinking on the ground. A very quiet noise that grows nearer. The sound of snuffling and a crackle of energy accompany, soon joined by a low growl.

One idea I have, is maybe we could start a new story arc in a brand new universe/setting, that way we can sort of write our own lore without contradicting the older lore of the absolutes etc. So, basically kind of like refreshing/resetting it but keeping the old stuff as well, just separate from our stories.

Strictly speaking, All was cyclical. If you won the Creation War at the very end, you got to recreate the next All according to your own design. A design that doesn't necessarily include any of the things that came before.

So if you simply imagine that you're fighting in an All a few iterations down the line, all of our history can have existed without contradicting or infringing upon what you've decided to make yourselves.

It's nice—and unexpected—that you don't just want to throw out all our old stuff.

On an unrelated note, I should tell Eno you couldn't find anything that sounds as cool as 'Absolute' (I never could, either). I imagine he'll be pretty happy to hear that.

(Though do I really want to compliment him, even indirectly? He might think I respect him for something, and we can't have that! Decisions, decisions...)

You just said something nice to me, you've already sunk to that level. Might as well compliment Eno as well.

(was there one of these creation wars? I don't remember being involved in one...)

Ahh Magery is back. Now all we need is a post from Eno and we have the full set of cameos from the four. I really should post something and reintroduce my char but meh. *Blocks Blue's slap.* The statement below is false.
The statement above is true.

What, again?

...Bloodthirsty much? *

EDIT- Oooh, I just had a neat thought, Ashlin, VMG and I can kind of form a technology/nature/magic trio (VMG representing nature)

*EDIT- actually I guess that's kind of the point of this thread :P

hmm, i have an idea about adding a new character to this thread. for a long time i had my own headcanon about the events of runescape. however, i highly doubt one person could do all those quests in a real story so i split it in several people with their own story arc (legend, pirate, elf, myreque, fremennik, you know) who meet up mid-lategame. i decided my character could follow the fremennik route (from fremennik trials to blood runs deep) and tried to create other character who fit the other questlines. in my eyes, forum fight happens AFTER the events of runescape

however, i kind of got stuck and only managed to make up another character who follows the myreque/morytania quest arc, mostly because i kind of got attached to the character. a benevolent saradominist priestess whose faith gets challenged upon the beginning of the sixth age. her personality, well, pretty much the opposite of my character in almost every way. pretty much the one trait they share is their altruism. the priestess is kind, merciful, slightly naive (though less so as the adventure progresses) and seeks to find the most peaceful solutions available, though will not be afraid to fight for what she believes in. pretty much what i did was look at the events of the myreque series and took personality traits based off the players actions (the naivete comes from the player being manipulated twice due to wanting to do a good deed, something i think fits an inexperienced cleric)

so, does anyone want to see her added to the forum fight roster or should we keep going with what we have?
