Gareth Arenar

Gareth simply stared at the child who had just barged in, his stoic expression bearing a tinge of annoyance. "One:" he began, his tone as dry and serious as ever, "if we don't take the time to debate upon a course of action, we will not come up with an adequate plan. Two: We have a shelter, and are inside it right now. Three: Training them isn't an option - it will be weeks before they can make any difference in a fight, and the only people who are skilled enough to train others are needed on this mission." He paused, allowing his points to sink in, before adding: "Now, go find a blanket or some dry clothes before you freeze to death."

That dealt with, he once again swiveled around to turn his attention back to the room as a whole. "It should be noted that even if we do successfully steal the ship, we may face issues in operating it, or experience some sort of travel delay. This weather certainly won't help the speed of our journey, and for all we know the ship may have some sort of authorization system that may take time to override. So we might not even have a day and a half." He stated grimly.

"As for our condition... we all received healing from Talia, correct? We're definitely not in peak shape but we're not hopelessly spent either, or at least I'm not." He had no way of knowing how others were feeling, in truth, and he hadn't really done any fighting. "I say we grab what we need and go."

Annie repiled in a frim voice,"I understand we have a Shelter and debate on what to do. But I still think the training all able-bodied people it's still a good idea. I don't think anyone should go out in this weather. Wait until the weather clear up. Then go find this ship you guys are talking about. I really want to help. I don't know where I can find dry clothes or a blanket. " -Dances-

Travis kept a mostly passive role for the next few minutes of discussion, idly scratching his chin in thought as ideas and answers were tossed around. From the shady fellow having a dangerous desire to start setting fires, which was promptly shut down by everyone else, to the brief consideration of performing some kind of... Something, with the ship's power source. It was filed away as a last resort - understandably, leading into the captain telling them of how they would locate the enemy ship's landing point.

Or rather, how they had already done so.

While the map was certainly fuzzy they did have a rough distance and direction with which to navigate - a mere three kilometres wasn't a bad trek at all, albeit in this weather the less wilderness savvy folk might have some trouble. Still, it was far more than they'd had five minutes ago, at this point all they really needed to figure out was a total of two things - who would be going, and what their plan of attack would be.

Bridgett and mud-man - Gareth was his name? - brought up questions, concerns and theories that were answered by the captain and the woman. Silvandros, apparently. The fact that both of them seemed to know who that guy in the helmet was, yet weren't saying much on the matter, brought a few questions to Travis' mind - questions that could wait. Especially since it was revealed that there was another time limit, this one set to only a day and a half. Something about a multi-nation conference. The Guild member thought he remembered something about that being spoke about by some other Guild members before he'd left, but it was nothing he'd been concerned with.

Then the kid burst in.

" Oh, you gotta be kiddin' me here... " He muttered under his breath, on the verge of performing another full-on facepalm before he caught himself - instead taking the time to sigh. Gareth quickly shut the kid's opinions down with the cold, hard facts of the matter and went on to say they should get going right

away. Travis agreed, albeit before he could say as much Annie piped up again - providing a series of opinions that he found all too familiar. Should've figured the kid wouldn't give up that easily.

" Look, Annie, ya' mean well and all, but there ain't any way we can do any of that, " He finally managed to make his voice known again, even if this time around it was to shoot down the thoughts of a small child. " We got literally a day an' a half, maybe less, ain't no way a single person can be taught ta' fight in that time even if we could spare it - which we can't. That means we can't wait this storm out either, could be days before it dies down, so your ideas ain't gonna work. "

With that, hopefully, the kid would finally shut up and let the adults finalize their plans. He turned away from her, looking over at Gareth and inclining his head in agreement. " Mud-man over here has the right of it - the sooner we get started the better our chances. The big guy out there only got me a little winded, I'm good to head out whenever folk are ready. " He paused, side-eyeing Annie for a moment before clarifying. " ...Whenever folk who can handle themselves in a fight're ready. "

Annie respond in a calm voice,”I disagree with your plan to leave when it’s storming outside. I really think we should stay here until the rain stops. I think we should secure where we are now. Plus we need to figure out how much food we have first before anything else.” She was frustrated that no one was listening to her. -Dances-

Crash Site - Ship Interior: Bridge

What we have will be handed out once we get everyone back inside. There’s not a lot, but with the power remaining we should be able to set a slightly warmer atmosphere inside the ship’s decks, and it should be enough to prevent anyone from suffering any adverse effects from their time outside. Our food supply is limited to what we can salvage from the monsters we killed and whatever emergency rations are still intact.
” the Captain told Annie. Neither he nor Talia had looked surprised when she had entered the Bridge, indicating that they had either already known she was there or were very good at hiding that they had not.

Spending effort on trying to get the passengers to fight is pointless, though. It might be a plausible idea if we had anything that’s easy to use, or enough that there was a surplus. There isn’t. Anyone that can already use what we have is already armed, and they already know how to handle themselves.
” Talia added. She seemed a bit irritated at what Annie was saying, and the reason for it became at least a little clear in what she said next.

You’re not fighting, either. Children should not be in combat, for any reason. From your own admissions, you don’t know how to fight, and therefore there is no reason for you to. Not only does it put you in danger, it forces everyone else to waste time and effort protecting you. The most help you can do is not get involved.

I am of the same mind as Silvandros. If you had combat experience, then perhaps it would be different, but I do not want to send any children, much less those who do not know what they are doing, into a potentially deadly situation.
” the Captain chimed in.

Talia looked as though she wanted to add something more - probably a contradiction of some kind given her expression - but she did not do so and instead spoke to yet another part of what Gareth had said.

I’m sure you’re aware, but the healing capabilities of this matrix, or really any matrix, save perhaps some extremely experimental ones that none of us will ever have access to, are limited to injuries. It does not and cannot restore any energy you may have lost doing whatever it was you were doing.
” she informed him, although she added in a mutter at the end, “
Although it should, given how much it drains.

There’s one more point that needs to be answered before you go as well, then, assuming you plan to take the ship.
” the Captain told them. Interestingly enough, as the discussion had gone on, he had begun to sound less tired and more focused. It was like planning everything was something that he actually liked doing. “
Can any of you pilot an airship?

Annie said with agreement,"That sounds like a good idea to get everyone back into the ship. Do you think the monster that you guys just killed is edible? I still don't think you guys should go hunt for a ship in this weather. I think we should worry about food and other supplies that we need to survive here. Fine I don't need to fight in the battles to come. I can't just sit around doing nothing to help. There has to be something I can do. " She refuses to stay behind to do nothing and going to help to fight no matter what with the dagger she has from an enemy who attacked the ship. She also had a medium Crystallis Matrix from her mom that she had in her pocket. She never felt this kind of power before. She doesn't know what it was or how it work but, she will figure it out. -Dances-

"Worrying about rescue, and worrying about food and supplies aren't mutually exclusive, you know." Gareth pointed out, looking back at Annie. "Only half a dozen or so of us are actually going. We're leaving dozens of people behind who can see to those tasks. If we don't grab that ship soon, we could be stuck here for weeks. Some of us will die from monsters, cold, sickness, starvation, or thirst. In the meantime, thousands more will die in the wars that will result from the Princess's absence." He stated bluntly, his patience clearly at an end.

"Now, if you want to help, why don't you go patrol the halls of the ship?" He suggested, hoping that would be enough to finally get rid of her. Then he swiveled back to face the captain.

"I once read about how to fly an airship." Gareth confessed. "I remember quite a bit, though without hands-on training or experience I would not trust myself to fly one for real. Don't you have your own pilot you can send with us? I don't see how they could do much good here. And one more thing - you possess a surprising amount of information about our situation. If you're more than just a captain, I would say we have the right to know."

Annie rolled her eyes as what Gareth just said. She took a big breath and said," Thats why we need to get find food and supplies just in case you don't find that ship! I am not going to patrol the halls of the ship! When other people is securing this place, finding supplies and food! I know how to hunt, make fires, build shelters and a lot more." She felt very frustrated that they are not listening to her. -Dances-
