Crash Site - Ship Interior: Bridge
“
Given who is in charge, I find it unlikely that he’s doing anything other than mocking you. He knows our options and knows that we have to find them, so he’s setting himself up somewhere nearby to see if you can manage to get there before he notices. If you can’t, he’d move, and you’d be stuck playing a game of cat and mouse that you can’t really afford to.
”
The Captain sighed before continuing, “
Unfortunately, the fact that he has taken this approach indicates to me that whatever his objective is has already been completed. I don’t know what it might be, though, and I could be wrong. It’s possible that he is simply doing this to make me think exactly what I am thinking.
”
“
You’ve both got valid points, though.
” Talia chimed in. “
Unless we’re attacked much, you’ve got enough time to do this carefully, at least provided they don’t figure it out and take off. You are correct, though; should the storm remain active, it will provide much better cover than you would have otherwise. If you’re in decent fighting shape, it would be best to go as soon as possible, but then again...are you?
”
“
How long is the flight from here to the capital?
”
Alicia’s question was spoken quietly, as if she didn’t want to get the answer. It was the first time she had spoken since she had left the group of survivors, and when she said it the Captain turned towards her with a slightly puzzled frown on his face.
“
From where we were supposed to be on the flight path, directly flying from here at normal cruising speed would take the better part of a day.
