Gareth Arenar
Gareth had indeed felt the need to continue the argument. "When the beast died, you didn't even wait to ensure the area was clear before you ran in." He reminded her. "You didn't know if it was truly dead, or if it was merely dazed or unconscious. You didn't know if there were any other creatures in the area either. And even if it is unlikely that anyone else here knows your identity, we should not take chances."
Then he turned to look at Talia's combat matrix, thoroughly intrigued by its abilities. He would have to ask her about it later, he decided. But at the moment there had been more pressing matters to concern himself with.
...
Upon his arrival at the bridge, Gareth would seat himself in front of the navigation array, slouching lazily in the chair. He listened intently as the Captain laid out the situation. And finally, when he was finished, Gareth sat a bit straighter.
"I
could
help." He said with some reluctance. "I would need a combat matrix and a gun. I saw some matrixes in the Cargo Hold, so perhaps some of the passengers might be willing to part with one of them. As for guns... if any of the soldiers died, there would have to be some lying around somewhere. Without either of these objects, I would likely just get in the way." He explained with a shrug. He had never actually used a gun in anything close to a combat scenario, but he would be more than capable of using a matrix - provided he knew what said matrix actually did.
"However, I do have some concerns. You want to send the most capable passengers to find this ship. The problem is, we don't know where the ship is, while chances are these enemies know where we are. They could easily launch some of attack while the group is away. Or another one of those beasts could arrive. Does your plan account for that possibility? And are you aware that at least one of them has an invisibility matrix?"
