Annie followed Travis as they walked towards the crash plane. She listened what Travis had to say. She felt fusterated that they won't train her to fight. She replied in a calm voice trying to hide that she was very tired, cold hungry and in pain,"I can learn as we go before we get to the nearest Guild Branch. I am 12 years old, I think I can handle to learn how to fight. I just don't want to be stuck in a tree again. I already know survival skills. I am feeling fine at the moment. I just want to help to get out of here like everyone else." -Dances-

Crash Site/Forest - Crash Survivors

Many of the survivors that had been watching were now looking at Ben with either shocked or awed expressions on their faces. It wasn’t surprising; they had just seen him engulfed in an inferno and come out without any real damage. The eyes of others had been drawn to the defenders at large, who, at the moment, were their saviors. Nearly all were silent, but it was less of a terrified silence and more one that was beginning to trend towards relief. None had died, and although a defender or two had been hurt none had been forced to give up their lives for everyone else.

As people began to move again, several went to assist those that were injured. A couple went to Ben and Ridley, although since neither of them were really affected all that would be done was dealing with Ben’s cut hands, and that would be secondary to making sure everyone else was alive. Voices began to start again; parents consoling scared children, partners making sure their companion was fine, and even strangers doing the same. No matter where they had come from, what had just happened had made it pretty clear that everyone was stuck here together, and nothing could possibly change that right now.

After a few moments, someone - the woman that had been on the deck above - came around the front of the ship and approached where the survivors were. Ben would recognize her when she got closer; it was the writer, Talia, from the lounge earlier. She looked a bit worse for wear: cuts all over her face, hands, and upper arms, the last of which could be seen due to the sleeves being mostly shredded. Both of her hands were clenched around something, but the storm made the visibility bad enough that whatever small part of them were visible wasn’t enough to identify what was there.

She approached Ben and gave him a look over before saying, “
Good, it didn’t burn you.
” With that, she turned away and started walking out towards where the other fight had been happening. There was no explanation given for what she meant, although it was pretty obvious: she had been the one that had caused the inferno to surround him.

As she went, she called over her shoulder, “
Oh, and the Captain would like to have a word with you two on the bridge when you’ve got a moment. Take your time, though. There’s no rush if you need some time to rest.

Princess?!

Chloe’s exclamation beat Gareth’s call for her by a moment, but once he had done so she emerged almost immediately. There was both surprise and relief in her voice, and it seemed that, despite the fact that the plan had been to jump out of the ship initially, she hadn’t expected anyone to actually do it after she got thrown.

As she walked out, the matrix still held in her left hand - the opposite of the one that held it on the ship, although only Gareth would be able to tell - she had to stop by a nearby tree and put her right hand up against it to steady herself, although this decision elicited a sharp gasp from her and she quickly removed it, putting the weight on her upper arm instead.

How...did you actually jump?
” she asked, sounding incredulous.

A nod was Alicia’s response, accompanied by, “
I’m glad you’re alive. Are you alright?
” She ceased her forward movement for a brief moment, stopping by where Chloe was standing.

Yeah, mostly.
” Chloe replied, giving a small grin. “
Hand still hurts like hell where I got shot, but that’s about the extent of it. More importantly, though, how about you? You land alright?

Mm. Come on, if you’re alright we should get back to the ship. They might need help.
” was Alicia’s response, and with that she continued on what had been her original course. Chloe looked slightly suspicious for a moment, but she then shrugged and pushed off the tree, following the princess at a slightly slower pace.

About two-thirds of the way to the ship, the group was met by a familiar face for some, and a new one for others. Talia looked about as bad for wear as everyone else, and although she didn’t walk like she was tired it was clear in her voice when she greeted the group.

The fact that none of you are dead is amazing.
” was her greeting, followed by, “
And before I get into anything else, I’m out here because the Captain wants to meet with all of you when you’ve got a moment. That includes you, Princess.

She then sighed, sliding whatever was in her right hand into a pocket in her jacket before putting the hand out towards Chloe and saying, “
Could I have it back, please? It looks like you’re all a bit hurt, and since it doesn’t look like you could use it properly I’d rather not tie up resources.
” If anyone cared to look at her palm, it looked like it had recently been burned pretty badly. The burn was in the shape of what looked like a square with a lion’s head in the middle.

Looking like she wasn’t exactly happy about this, Chloe took a step forward and deposited the watch that had been given to her on the ship back to the author. As she did, Alicia started walking past, leaving the group behind. It seemed that she didn’t want to wait here anymore, and the action made Talia sigh again and ask the rest of the group, “
Well, anyone else want to run off? I can make sure you’re all healed on the move, if you’d prefer to not wait around anymore.

Gareth Arenar

He found himself blushing slightly when Bridgett patted him on the back, but his cheeks were already red from the cold so hopefully it would not be noticed - he did tense up a bit, however. "And here I thought I was the serious one." He responded in a completely serious tone, as he often did, but there was a slight smirk on his face.

He then turned to face Chloe, and suddenly his expression was all business. "After you were pushed, I put on the bail-out gear, grabbed the Princess, and jumped. We arrived here by foot, and witnessed the battle." Gareth recounted, as though he was summarizing the events of an only mildly interesting novel.

Then, he faced Talia. "The princess has a deep cut in her arm, and some other injuries. I wrapped it as best as I could, but I had to improvise a bandage. I have a few cuts and bruises myself, but hers should take priority. And it would be best to follow her before she gets too far ahead." Without awaiting a response, he gave one last nod to Bridgett and moved to catch up to the princess.

When he did catch up, he spoke once again, this time addressing the princess herself. "I understand that you've likely grown up being groomed for leadership, but you need to be more cautious." He stated rather bluntly. "I don't expect you to wrap yourself in plastic, but if something happens to you, it will mean war."

Ben and Ridley

Ben just noticed he had attracted the attention of many. Too bad he didn’t have his hat, he would have liked to slightly tilt it and enjoy being awesome. Instead, a few gentler souls treated his cut hands. He then noticed Talia appear, albeit a little worse for wear. He wondered if she ever had a scene like this in her literature!

“Ya mean, you weren’t bein’ careful?” Ben muttered upon Talia’s first comment.

“Ya mean I didn’t cause it?” Ridley remarked.

Talia said that the captain would like a word with the two on the bridge, whenever they were ready.

“Alright, I’ll see him in a bit.” Ben acknowledged, then looked at Ridley. “You comin’?” he asked, Ridley shrugged.

“Guess so, someone in charge needs ta acknowledge me efforts.” Ridley replied, but took one last look at the forests. No beasts.

When they could, Ridley and Ben would meet with the captain. It was nice to be away from danger again.

Travis facepalmed. The kid really wasn't listening to what he was saying. Did that surprise him? Not all that much, actually. He knew firsthand that kids didn't listen, he certainly hadn't, and he'd been a persistent little bastard.

" Listen close here, you ain't gonna be ready to fight anythin' without a few years worth of trainin' and growin'. Hear me? YEARS. Anythin' I could teach ya' on the move ain't gonna be anywhere near enough to drill the skills into that little head of yours, " He told her outright how it was, letting only a little bit of his irritation creep into his tone. " Fact is, you ain't gonna be able to help if another fight starts. Hell, if you try you'll just be gettin' in the way and riskin' the lives of anyone try'na deal with the problem. This ain't about you thinkin' you're ready to get trained, it's about there being no time, no equipment and no experienced teachers about to give ya' anythin' of the sort. "

Someone Travis didn't really recognize was approaching the group, so he shot one more comment back at Annie before they came within speaking distance. " You want ta' help? Go get some rest before you pass out, 'cause then you ain't gonna be helpin' anybody. "

What followed when the new figure reached them served to raise a series of questions in Travis' mind. The Captain wanted to meet with them all, which was fair enough, he and Bridgett had brought down that big Monster after all. However, it took a moment for him to fully realize that also meant the others who had walked out of the woods, particularly the smaller mud-person, and then there was the mention of 'Princess'...

Wait. Princess?

The Guild member was confused. Since when had royalty been aboard the airship? More than that, the smaller mud-person was a Princess? Apparently so, the girl leaving the conversation sharply thereafter followed by the bigger mud-person after he explained the circumstances leading up to how they'd got here.

To say the least Travis

was wholly invested in figuring out just what the hell was going on after hearing some of that. Not that he hadn't already been interested, but with all this new information coming to him then he was POSITIVE the Guild would want to hear about it. Being uninjured and only somewhat fatigued after the battle the Guild member had no need for medical attention.

He spared a look at the others around him, judging their conditions based on what he'd seen of them so far. Annie was obviously struggling even if she was trying to hide it, the sheer exhaustion visible in her body language if not her expression. The child needed to get some rest or she'd end up sick. Bridgett didn't appear injured, just more or less as tired as he felt. The only real injury he could see was the hand of the newest person to emerge from the trees, one he had never seen before but who was handing some kind of matrix back to the woman who'd approached from the ship. That looked REAL bad.

" Just a couple bruises here, ain't nothing to worry about, " He said, waving off any concern for himself even as he moved to start after the pair of mud-people. He paused as he went to move by Chloe, nodding at her. " That hand is gonna need some work done though. " There was also Annie's exhausted state, but that was plain as day for literally anyone to see - and literally anyone could tell she needed a place to sleep.

With that Travis joined the procession in search of the Captain. Once he heard what the man had to say, then at least he might get a clearer picture of the situation.

Annie listened what Travis had to say as they walked to the ship. She's understood why he was mad about her request about being trained to fight with years she needs, they don't have the right equipment to train her, and she would be gettin' in the way and riskin' the lives of anyone trying deal with the problem. She was happy to hear that he will train her as they travel. She said,"I understand what you are saying. I am ready for any training you can give me. Even if it's the basics to get me ready for real training."

A few minutes later she saw a group coming towards them as they got to the ship, thats when she heard Travis's comment. She felt really tired and weak from everything that happened but she didn't know where she could go to sleep. She said,"ok. But I don't know where I can rest for a while."
