the fightin' start, they can slip inside, subdue the crew an' get the ship under our control. "

It was, all things considered, a sort of middle-ground between the ideas so far. Any rational person among them would know full well that whatever plan they chose would have a lot of holes, so meticulously planning it out to the last detail wasn't going to work. No plan ever survived first contact. Beyond that, the amassed group likely had very different skillsets that wouldn't be put to the best use if they all stuck as one unit.

"You both rely too much on our enemy's cooperation." Gareth stated bluntly, to both Bridgett and Travis. No plan survives first contact with the enemy . He turned to Travis first. "You expect three people to hold off the bulk of the enemy forces on their own. You then expect the other three to advance into the ship itself, without knowing what is in store. During this process, we have no means of communicating with each other. And even if the infiltration team does get the ship under their control... what of the distraction team? Do you expect the enemy they are engaged with to just give up? You're sentencing half our group to death, when the other half still has no certainty of success."

From anyone else it might have sounded like an accusation, but from Gareth he voiced it almost as a plain statement of fact. Then he looked to Bridgett. "My earlier points still stand. If the enemy has a small group, they will know each other. If not, they are clearly professionals and will likely have callsigns. They also know they have taken losses." He was clearly tired of having to repeat himself. "To both of your plans: if one of the groups fail, or the enemy does something unanticipated, we lose."

"If we want to defeat them, we need to do so as a unit. We advance as a group, come to a stop a good distance from their ship. Then we send a one or two man recon team ahead. They make note of how many guards are stationed outside of the ship, and maybe stealthily take out some sentries if possible. They report back to the main group, and we work out a plan of attack from there. We strike them as a unit, utilizing as much stealth as possible, and once we are inside the ship we kill or subdue the remaining foes before they can rally themselves."

There was a thoughtful pause. "I will concede that we can use the disguises in some fashion. Approach them and attack as they voice their inevitable suspicions. But we should not make them a key factor in our plan - it is doubtful that the ruse will work for anything longer than a few seconds."

He coughed lightly - all this talking was starting to dry his throat. "I know my plan is simple by comparison. But a more complex plan leaves more room for error, and requires more information - information which we simply do not have right now."

And one that you should have started out with. Doesn’t questioning loyalties usually happen before you try to construct a plan?
” was Talia’s response to Gareth’s defensive remark. She didn’t sound accusatory, although the dismissive nature was about the same as what she had said just before.

I would say that the greatest problem we have here is that we do not know what sort of terrain they have landed at.
” the Captain said, not adding to what Talia had said despite the fact that it had been him that the gaze had focused on. “
Although I sincerely doubt that they will assume we have no arms. Don’t underestimate your enemy’s intelligence. They know they did not recover the bodies of their comrades before they left the ship, nor did they remove those that they killed. Everyone was armed, so it would make no sense that we do not have weaponry. Your group also killed four of them, so even if you did not use weapons it would be an intelligent assumption to think that we have arms of some kind available.

I’m still against using a child, and I don’t think the Princess should accompany those that go. I believe that it is too risky, and as she suggested, you don’t need the actual Princess if you’re going for a distraction, although it will be a serious risk for whoever takes the role.
” Talia interjected, motioning towards Bridgett as she said the last part to indicate the “she” that was mentioned. The writer didn’t sound like she thought it was a terrible idea, although she also did not sound incredibly excited that it was on the table. However, the resignation with which she said the first part, about not using a child, indicated that she expected to be overruled in the decision.

What about the helmets? If they’re connected, couldn’t we use them for communication like they did?
” Chloe asked.

That’s a possibility, but it will take time.
” Talia replied. Although she still looked as tired as she had before, she had opened her eyes, and was sitting up and forward in the chair rather than leaning back as she had been. “
I had to disable all of those functions to make sure we weren’t being listened in on, and I’m not sure how long it will take me to make them functional again. That’s not including the time it would take for me to make sure the communications are isolated to just you, either.

Let me rephrase that, though; I can get it set up, but you might not have any spare time left by the time I do.
” she added, shrugging. “
It’s up to you if you want to take that risk.

I agree with the assessment that a disguise will not have a positive effect.
” the Captain said in addition to Travis’ - and also partially Gareth’s once he chimed in - analysis and proposal. “
It seems unlikely to me that they would even try to take back someone wearing one of their uniforms except to trap whoever is wearing it. There is also the issue that none of the uniforms are without some kind of disfiguring mark, be that blood or bullet holes, and such things only need to be briefly seen for the wearer to be labeled as false.

You just need to remember that they probably still have communication between each other, and so you should assume that what one knows is known by all of them. If you’re trying to sneak in, you’ll have to either avoid them or take them out before they know what’s happening.
” was Talia’s addition to the discussion of approach. She sounded as though she was somewhat skeptical of the whole discussion, but it was likely that she didn’t have a better idea because she didn’t add anything else of her own.

Bridgett

As Talia and the Captain attempted to navigate through the conversation, Bridgett heaved yet another sigh. Gareth and the Captain were right as always; right now they were stabbing around blindly in the dark without using their primary assets. As it stood, they were just burning time. Regardless, she didn’t want to walk in without all of the facts – and there was at least one avenue they had not tried.

A full frontal was suicidal, and infiltration carried its own risks; perhaps they would succeed, but the enemy were also trained and well equipped. Win or lose, if things broke down they would be in for a tough fight, and they would lose people. Perhaps her earlier assessment was a little hasty.

Glancing toward the map, Bridgett couldn’t shake off their proximity as a major clue as to their intentions. After all, they had landed only three clicks from the landing site, a mere pedestrian distance away. Tactical ideals aside, could there be any personal motive behind these actions?

Bridgett blinked. Perhaps there was; it had been staring her in the face all along. After she had entered the hanger, she recalled one of the terrorists waved to her before jumping off the ship – taunting her.

Bridgett was reeling at the realisation. They didn’t want to observe and respond, wanted a fight! And, as things stood, they were being slowly drawn in by the carrot on the stick.

Let’s try another angle. This may just be speculation, but I'm beginning to suspect they might have landed in a tactically compromising position expecting a sneak attack. ” Bridgett said, directing her next comment towards the captain. “ Therefore, their true purpose is to challenge us head on for the sakes of honour, pleasure or perhaps vengeance; does this profile match the man you know?

Bridgett paused, looking expectantly at the captain. It was clear she had more she wanted to say.

Annie just remebered something about the attackers and said in a calm voice," I just remembered one of the attackers said. One of them said they where taking the princess and the last member of last member of the delivery crew are coming with them. We need to figure out who the last of the delivery crew. I think that is our key to figure out who was the last of their delivery crew. That's means that might be a spy on this ship and that's how they found the princess on this air ship." -Dances-

Ben and Ridley

“One of my bullets nicked a guy before he jumped out. They gonna know we’re armed.” Ben remarked regarding that subject. “And, wearing some body armour would be a pretty good idea, too, even if it ain’t be good for a disguise or the helmets ain’t workin’. If any of the dead soldiers have guns or anythin' else we can use, all the better. As for reaching their ship, I sure don’t care how. If we all keep our heads low and spread apart, they probably won’t be findin’ us, and whatever terrain they at, we’ll find out soon enough.”

As for Ridley, he just shook his head and did not seem to care about anything. In fact, he looked quite bored.

"How 'bout we just get goin', eh? Whoever wants ta do whatever he wants, do it. Be done like dat." Ridley remarked, clearly not caring about whatever plan anyone suggested thus far.

Annie proposed finding the last delivery crew, but that was not something Ridley or Ben could figure out. Perhaps a crewmate who had access to a logbook or something could work, but it was beyond what Ben or Ridley could get.

Gareth pressed a palm against his face, and shook his head. He had originally intended to tune the girl out, but those words had somehow managed to slip through his mental barriers, and it would be best to shut them down before further confusion and misinformation ensued.

As he went on to address Annie's new 'theory', he found himself bursting into sarcasm, though it was in his usual deadpan serious tone. "The 'last member of the delivery crew'... well, this is far fetched, but I suspect it might be the woman who is wearing a delivery uniform, tried to get the princess to safety, enlisted nearly half the people in this room to assist in that task, and is very clearly not a spy." He leaned back in his chair as he nodded towards Chloe. "Just a guess."

That dealt with, he awaited an answer to Bridgett's question, not even bothering to indulge Ridley's commentary. Though he couldn't help but wonder if the shifty-looking fellow would be more of a hindrance than a help... he came across as a loose cannon, and what he just said made it seem doubtful that he would actually follow whatever plan they gave him. They would have to watch him... perhaps even leave him behind if he showed further signs of instability.

Come to think of it, he would also have to ask Chloe about what organization she was working for. Though considering how the others had reacted the last time he asked a question like that, it would be best to wait until later.

Crash Site - Ship Interior: Bridge

Her eyes widening as Annie began postulating a new theory, Chloe looked about to say something...at least until Gareth spoke up and essentially did it for her. Relaxing just slightly, since nobody else seemed to be nearly as concerned as the little girl with the conspiracy theories, she did speak, although it was much less vehement than it likely would have been without Gareth’s intervention.

Yeah, that’s me. I’m...the last one.

As she spoke, her words trailed off, and she turned away from the rest of the group to face in the direction of the wall behind her. It had originally looked like she had been planning to say more, but it seemed that she wasn’t going to get out whatever those words would have been.

That brings up something else, though.
” Talia mused, looking over at Chloe for a moment. “
I can hazard a guess as to why they want her, but since they probably think she is dead it may be both safest and smartest for her to remain here for the initial operation.

As Chloe turned to face her, words beginning to form on her lips - and a tear rolling down her cheek, which appeared to be why she had turned away in the first place - Talia held up a hand to stop her, quickly saying, “
I am aware you want to go, and I understand why. However, it is important to understand that remaining here may be a better choice. Ultimately, it is the decision of those going.
