Ben

He just noticed he cut his hands from the climb. Oops. To make things worse, a gunfight seemed to have erupted outside. On the bright side, the only immediate issue was the smoke, but the flames had yet to be life threatening, maybe.

“Damn, I gotta make this quick.” Ben muttered to himself, coughing a little.

Deck 3, one door open, two more people outside, presumably in regards to the combat outside that Ben had not yet witnessed. Ben could never guess that most people were killed by the actual shots fired into the airship, so he naturally assumed most were killed by the impact of the crash. He was a bit surprised to find the seats intact, and regretted that there was just no time to properly bury the dead. The cargo hold seemed totally hopeless.

Well, since the two outside were obviously busy, Ben figured it was best to help those still inside, numbering no more than possibly two. He went along the angled floor to help the one or two people left, the smoke not stifling him too much, for now. He was unsure of who exactly they could possibly be.

“Hey, ya’ll alright? We gotta go, ship might burst to flames or what. Sounds like a gunfight outside, any of you know how to shoot a gun? I have two revolvers, I can give one up.” Ben said, pushing aside debris as best he could in the area just in case it was in the way, but his cut hands hurt. “There’s two guys outside the deck, they’ve got guns or matrices or whatever, maybe stay near them to be safe.” Ben continued.

Ridley

He ran to a group of five armed people, three with rifles two with handguns, and joined the fight.

“Whuht da foohk are dey?” Ridley shouted, head shaking to and fro and wondering where to shoot. “Eh! Don’t just sit around! Goh pick up sum flamin’ debris or what and build a larger fire, put th’ whole damn forest on fire, maybe these animals are scared of fire!” he shouted again, knowing that the passengers were basically dead meat, but they had to do something.

Overall, it seemed the armed people were doing a good job at least keeping the beasts away, four reloading, one rifleman charged by multiples, and a larger force charging at once in another direction.

He fired a few shots quickly at the beasts targeted by the five armed people, then ran off to the side, firing at the beasts charging the solitary rifleman. He then picked up a rather large pine needle branch, needle end burning, and threw it at the beasts, then continue shooting at them. If the beasts were afraid of fire and smoke, as animals tended to be, maybe it would buy him a second or more.

Bridgett:

Bridgett knelt against the tree, watching helplessly as Travis made for a dive under the creature. Bridgett could feel the air seem to still, her breath entrapped. She cursed the man for his recklessness… but, beyond that, she would be lying to herself if she weren’t enjoying the sport. The hard pound against her air, the air of anticipation, the rush of colours… every one of her senses made her feel so ALIVE!

Like all moments, this one collapsed upon itself. Time sped up, its dolls gaining momentum. Travis managed to slide under the creature, but kept sliding. Had he had missed his grab?

Then she saw the creature’s mistake.

As the creature began its vicious counter strike, Bridgett pounced. She figured she was well enough inside of the creature’s blind spot to sprint low and hard, her sizzling spear ready by her side to be driven deep into the creature’s soft knee-pit.

Gareth Arenar

He was not getting paid enough for this.

He was, of course, not getting paid at all. And yet, for reasons unknown, that was the first thought to pop into Gareth's head when he saw the giant gorilla battling the shadowy figures near the site of the crashed ship. This situation was becoming increasingly suicidal by the minute.

There was nothing he could do about the fight itself. There was, however, a mysterious figure standing off to the side. She looked female, and the voice he heard earlier had been female. That, and the fact that she was nowhere near the location of the ship, indicated that she was the one who ran past him earlier.

He was still unsure of her intentions, or how she even made it here to begin with. The only person who had 'left' before him was Chloe, and that was without bailout gear. Unless Chloe was somehow immortal, this was a completely different individual who had to have been waiting on the ground from the start. That didn't explain the familiar-sounding voice, however.

In truth, Gareth was not quite sure what to do. Was she about to help or was she about to hinder the defenders?

He took a breath. There was only one way to find out.

"Stay here and stay low." He whispered to Alicia. Then, makeshift staff in hand, he attempted to approach the figure from behind as stealthily as he could, in order to get a better look at her appearance and perhaps figure out what exactly she was trying to do with her matrix.

His experience in stealth consisted almost entirely of standing in the corners during fancy parties and hoping nobody noticed him, but his eyes had adjusted to the darkness, and perhaps the winds and rain would be enough to drown out his light footsteps, while the woman herself appeared distracted by her task. If he was detected... well, he wasn't brandishing his staff in a threatening position, so hopefully she wouldn't attack him or flee on sight.

Crash Site - Interior

Everyone that Ben tried to solicit combat assistance from would decline, whether with a shake of the head or a timid statement about how that wasn’t something they could do. There weren’t many people left inside anyways; it seemed that everyone had done an efficient job at getting them out. The few left were varied states of injured, one of them requiring Ben to all but carry them out while others were able to make it there with minimal assistance.

Nobody seemed to pay more than cursory attention to his warnings, although whether that was because they already knew or had been told something else wasn’t clear. All that seemed to really matter was that everyone get off the ship, although the sounds of combat outside did deter a couple people, who made it clear that they were remaining in the broken lounge area until the fighting outside stopped. Nobody seemed to want to remain in the interior of the ship, even with what was happening outside.

With the ship seeming to be cleared out, he had his choices about what he could do next. There was obviously the fight outside, there was the interior of the ship to investigate - as it was now free of watching people - or there was anything else he could think of.

Crash Site/Forest - Crash Survivors

It seemed that the largest group of creatures was being somewhat held back, and Ridley’s attempts made it so that they were unable to reach the survivors. The two that survived the onslaught of bullets pulled back momentarily, regrouping with the remains of the pack. However, the fact that he focused on them at the start and nothing else meant that, although he tried to swap between fields of battle, the single combatant on the side was unable to keep the creatures back. Although two fell, one of them dead and the other injured, one of the remaining ones managed to leap over and onto the gunman, knocking him down and trying to bite at his face.

The others, although set up to help finish, were taken care of by the flaming branch that was thrown at them, albeit in an indirect fashion. As the branch flew towards them, they went to move out of the way, but the fire suddenly flared up and flew out towards them, wrapping around their legs and faces and causing them to howl in agony. His shots would finish off one of those that had not reached the people, which meant there was still one creature trying to bite into the flesh of the downed gunman.

On the other side, it looked as though the momentary respite had come to a close. Several more of the creatures came out of the woods, charging that side. They were met with shots from the deck above, as well as additional fire from one of the two on that side while the other finished their reloading. As two of the creatures tried to run through a puddle in the field, the water suddenly froze, trapping their legs - and by extension, the rest of them - and making them easy targets for the incoming projectiles.

Forest

Fortunately for Gareth, it seemed that his target wasn’t paying attention to him at all. She didn’t even glance his way while he approached, her full attention on the rather insane fight taking place just on the other side of the trees. From the general height and build, it did indeed seem to be the same person from earlier.

It looked like the fact that she had sprinted by where he and Alicia had been earlier had taken a toll, as the hand not holding the matrix was up against a tree to keep her up, and it looked like she was still trying to catch her breath from the way her chest was heaving. The hand on the tree was covered in blood, as well, although the source of that wasn’t readily apparent. The familiarity of the voice from before would soon be joined by a familiarity of appearance as Gareth got closer...

...and, well, it seemed as though he had an immortal person on his hands. Although the clothes had several rips in them and there were blood splatters all over, the visor was missing, and the matrix was held in the opposite hand from on the ship, the young woman standing there with her eyes on the fight was unmistakably Chloe Senia. It wasn’t exactly clear what she was doing, although the darker and less color-centric matrix glow would indicate that he intention was not elemental in nature.

As of the current moment, she still did not notice him, and the increase in the dull glow of the matrix indicated that whatever she was doing was nearing completion.

Even if it hadn't gone entirely according to plan, at least the first half of it had worked out as intended - the Monster was pretty neatly distracted by Travis. As the young man slid under the beast's bulk, those trunk-like legs no more than a foot or two away from him, he sprung into his crouch and immediately prepped to pounce for the Monster's back. Thoughts of that plan were sharply denied by its uncanny reaction speed.

Travis was surprised but not stunned, able to abandon his lunge before he followed through with the move in order to throw himself to the ground - the fist sailing above his prone form so closely he could practically feel the stray hairs brushing against him. He always prided himself on being tough, but a direct hit from a fist that size would produce some serious injuries at the very least. It was an extremely narrow miss, and he really didn't have time to lay there and count his blessings.

As soon as the fist was done sailing over him the Guild Member pushed off the ground with a grunt, getting his feet underneath himself and practically exploding off the ground where he'd dropped. Blood pounded in his ears as adrenaline filled his veins, his eyes wide and his grin manic as he sprinted around the side of the Monster - lashing out with a violent slash from from his dagger at the ankle of the leg he sped by, intending to damage its tendons.

His movement carried him around the opposite side to where Bridgett was coming in for a charge, unaware of his fellow fighter's location but still deeply intent on keeping the Monster's attention on himself. That had been his plan after all, and he wasn't about to toss it aside and leave her high and dry. Now he intended to keep close to the legs of the Monster to avoid its long limbed swings, using nimbleness and speed to harass. There was the threat of its legs, but they would not lash out as fast as its arms, and he was confident he could avoid blows from them.

Crash Site/Forest - Monster Battle

There was nothing for Annie to kill anything with up in the tree. It was an absolutely normal tree, with no special qualities that other trees did not have. In fact, one might go as far as to say that this tree, although keeping Annie safe currently, was completely average in every way.

A roar erupted from the creature as Travis flattened himself and the fist swished harmlessly past, the obvious rage at its target avoiding it bellowing itself out and into the trees. This was elongated into a roar of pain as well as the already-present rage as the burning spear dug deeply into the back of its knee. The moving fist thudded into the ground, throwing up a splash of muddy soil as the struck knee dropped to the ground.

Now that it had been so soundly struck, the creature turned its burning gaze to Bridgett, complete and utter hatred in its soulless eyes. Both fists came up, the first slamming down at where she was and the second following almost immediately after. Although the second would be aimed at wherever she was going, it would by no means be perfect. This creature was powerful, but from an immobile standpoint it did not have the ability to project the greatest amount of accuracy. Still, both fists would strike the ground hard enough to send the muddy soil flying to all sides, almost certainly hitting everyone on the ground nearby.

In its rage, it seemed like the creature had forgotten about Travis, and although his attack struck with a noticeable effect - as blood was now running from that leg as well - the creature did not yet divert its attention from the spear-wielding warrior on its other side. While this might mean that Travis had failed to keep its attention, it also meant that it wasn’t counterattacking.

Annie felt the monster hitting the tree. She screams with fear and holds the tree all her might as the tree shakes under her. She knows she needs to help. She saw the Monster was just under her tree. She just remembers she has daggers shealth on her waist. She drew one of her dagger and found a breach that she could cut and drop it on the monster.

Then she found a good branch and started to saw it with her dagger. She yelled to her allies,"Heads up!" It finally came lose and dropped it on the monster and hoped it hit it to knock it out or kill it.
