(continued)

“It's a Prowler. They don't have good eyesight.” Gideon's saviour remarked, then stepped forth, “Come on, Darkbeasts! Let's see how much you can manage against Tsakirr!” Gideon's friend continued, then the large Darkbeast (a Prowler) charged, claws clicking against the stone floor.

Immediately, Tsakirr sprang to action, using his psionics to propel him forth powerfully, diving while raising both swords, one blade cutting along the side of the Prowler as it ran passed him and charged towards Gideon. Tsakirr dove into the smaller Darkbeasts and began spinning around, and being without flesh or blood, his lightness allowed him to be quite acrobatic, and he danced with the grace of a young girl, unleashing his curved, serrated blades against the rising Darkbeasts...

Gideon was ready for the charging Prowler Darkbeast; it leapt at him. Sevearl more typical Darkbeasts began to arise from the shadows, intending to spring to action once the Prowler reached Gideon...

George,
Since this is an opening fight scene, you can control everything in this fight scene in relation to Gideon. My next posts will be a bit more difficult.

Although ethereal, the Darkbeasts can still be attacked physically; they can travel through shadows, such as sink into shade then jump back out elsewhere.

Darkbeasts are weak in direct sunlight; weaker ones will vanish into smoke if in contact with sunlight, but sunlight is currently blocked out as you already alluded.
Gideon must survive.

Poca sat on the ground at the camp she just made, worried about the girl who was injured and unconscious. She kept on guard to make sure they both stay safe. As she was on guard it got darker around her even though it's supposed to be daylight that's when she saw a creature stood there and gazing at her. Then the creature looked down, staring at the unconscious girl. She stood up and drew her sword ready to fight to protect the unconscious girl and herself from this creature. She also preparing herself to use magic. -Dances-

In life Gideon had faced many men on the field of battle. He had felled men small and large, strong and quick, young and old, wielding all sorts of mortal arms and magic alike. He had marched to battle surrounded by the risen dead, and fought alongside them for hours on end, but the beasts that rose up before him were unlike any he had seen in life. Monsters of darkness with vicious fangs and claws rising up from the shadows, swarming, filling the gaps of the ruins with their fierce white eyes.

But this Prowler was the greatest of them all, with eyes only for him, and likewise, Gideon's gaze went unbroken. His ally was quick to spring forwards, bypassing the charging Prowler and giving it a scrape across the side as he went, entering a flurry of twirls and strikes that cut away at the lesser beings in his wake. Tsakirr he called himself. His savior had a name.

Around him he could hear the chittering of yet more Darkbeasts rising out of nothingness, smallfry, nothing like the monster staring him down; lunging at him. The familiarity of the dance awakened within Gideon, the muscle-memory, the reflexes, the flow of battle that he had always been able to read so well. He knew the steps; turning his form and quick-stepping to the left, just enough, his body so much lighter than it had once been even weighed down by so much metal.

The former Warlord pulled his bastard sword across the gap where he had been standing, stepping forwards as he felt the blade make contact with the same side of the Prowler previously wounded by Tsakirr, finishing the fluid movement by twisting fully to face the creature as it howled its pain and fury, crashing across the stone floor in a rough heap. To its credit the Prowler was fast back on its feet, a vicious wound on its side fitting well with the other it had been left with.

Instinct struck Gideon and he swept his axe in an arc, the rusted metal serving well enough to cleave through the shoulder and torso of a smaller Darkbeast that

thought to capitalize on the focused warrior's primary fight. It could barely let out a cry before it died, Gideon ripping the axe from its dissolving form just in time to parry a vicious swipe from the claws of the Prowler with his sword. The force behind the blow was no surprise, but the fact he felt himself get shoved to the side from the impact was a concern. Even in such heavy armour the beast could knock him around. Had he not been weighed down by the gear he most likely would have been sent crashing into the wall rather than merely sliding across the stone.

He thrust his blade towards the wall where a Darkbeast emerged, piercing its skull and halting his slide immediately. Another was knocked prone by a sharp kick to its torso, followed swiftly by the downwards arc of Gideon's axe to its neck. A third beast was bisected as it dove at him, withdrawing his sword from the dissolving skull of a Darkbeast to sweep it across the body of the leaper. Two dissolving halves flew by and the Warlord threw himself backwards in a roll, his axe clattering to the ground as he was forced to drop it; the Prowler having lunged once more.

It collided with the wall but rebounded quickly enough, fierce eyes glaring deep into his own. Gideon withdrew his dagger with his now free hand, flipping it in his grip and driving it backwards into the heart of a Darkbeast approaching from behind, eyes never leaving the Prowler. The greater Darkbeast charged and, seeing an opportunity, Gideon did the same. The Prowler swept its claws high, to tear at his helm, but the Warlord went low, ducking at just the right time to avoid the lengthy claws.

Catching the Prowler off guard with this he threw his full weight into the legs of the beast, a ghastly grunt of exertion slipping free of his armour as he, with as much strength as he could muster, lifted with his shoulder. The momentum of the Prowler combined with his attempt at a bulwark proved a success, toppling the monster over his armored form

and bringing it crashing down on its back behind him. However, as Gideon twisted and brought his sword down the Prowler sank into the shadows, causing his blade to strike solid stone.

Immediately he was set to scanning his surroundings, parrying a slash from a nearby Darkbeast with his dagger before sweeping the small blade down, cutting through the beast's wrist. It howled in agony and fell back, avoiding immediate death only because another lunged at Gideon that forced the Warlord to backstep and bring around his sword to cut its head from its shoulders. The blade caught half way through the neck, its dulled and rusted edge far from what it once was. He was forced to let go and duck to avoid the swipe from the Prowler; it had reappeared behind him while he was distracted. It understood ambush tactics.

While he was able to land a light slash across the Prowler's hand it was a mere light wound, and he was forced to roll away to avoid the follow-up strike. Luckily; right over to where his axe had fallen. Snatching it up just in time to take the arm off of another Darkbeast, finishing it with a thrust through the base of its skull with his dagger. He withdrew it and turned; near face to face with the beastly Prowler. He reacted with a snap-judgement and smashed his armoured head straight into its muzzle.

Recoiling in pain the Prowler snarled, but the damage had been done already. Its white eyes found Gideon again a moment too late, only catching a glimpse of the axe raised above its head coming down for the decisive blow. The skull of the Prowler proved too much for the ancient weapon however, and thus after it was finished sinking half-way into the monster's head, pulled free again, the old weapon could stand no more; it broke, fragments falling away to leave a dull, useless tool.

It was discarded like so many others, but with it fell the great Prowler, dissolving like all the rest.

Analee and Miranda

Analee stood before the great beast. At first she was a little uneasy but was quickly calmed by a feeling. This creature, Ikelos it said it name was, wasn't a threat to her. She listened to him speak of sicons and what they were. Was she really a descendant of the ones who created all this? Suddenly, Ikelos turned his attention to someone else. Analee turned her head and gazed at another.

Once the voice turned into a whisper, Miranda slowly stood back up. "I have seen worse in the past couple of days" Analee replied to his question when he asked if he looked frighting.

Miranda slowly stepped forward towards the other girl. "Me? A scicon? Please don't make me laugh!" Miranda heard of the sicons before, the ones who descended from the ones who created sorcery. Before she could continue, Analee interrupted.

"What is this terrible fate? Will I be able to beat it?" She asked. Analee easily believed, she was one who looked on the brighter side of things. Miranda in the other hand was one who had to see to believe. Life wasn't a fairy tale to her, it was a battle field. She had to fight for what she got.

Suddenly he lifted his hands and waves of auroras flew around. "I can feel it" Analee said as she felt the magic. Analee closed her eyes as she thought about what she felt. She felt the desire to heal others, to help them.

At first, Miranda rolled her eyes until she felt somethjng....strange. "What are you doing to me!" She asked as she felt the magic. "I wish I could just teleport of of here." She said.

((Miranda is improving her teleporting skill and Analee is gaining' aspromancy ))

Since Astriki was a small island with few people in it, the Holy Order of St. Ambrose had begun recruiting young people in overseas, Emily and Salvatore included. Although frequent pirate attacks had left many of its citizens wary of foreigners, they were grateful for the guards being recruited in and were friendly with those who had served in defending the tiny island for a while. But those who were freshly recruited could find it somewhat difficult to settle in.

"This is a nice place, but the people are always, I dunno, on edge around us," muttered a young Apache as he climbed up a tree with a bow to his back. An orc replied in a Frankish accent, "Oui, it does seem zat way. But it makes a change from ze infighting, it does get a leetle tiresome. 'Ow did you get 'ere again?" The Apache said, "When I was 16, a Gothican fleet attacked my village, pillaged what they took and burned what they didn't. I never saw my family or friends again. Then I hid out into the forests and ran until I hopped aboard a ship. The Goths were there too but they left this ship alone, not sure where they came from though. But then I felt this blow to the head and, next thing I know, I end up here."

The battle boar looked up at the atakebune and his mouth hung agape. Emily stroked the mane of the boar reassuringly, then aimed her crossbow up at the ship as it came towards the island, breathing very slowly yet shakily as she squeezed the trigger. Whines from the crossbow string followed the series of clicks from the trigger as she aimed carefully, trying to hit spots on the ship close to the deck to flush the enemies out with gas.

Nightstar showed Sally the shadows of a large number of powerful marines and archers, but no cannons; he figured the atakebune likely wouldn't strike until it reached the coast. He had to act fast; his staff shone in multiple colours and the stars glimmered and winked more furiously until they let loose a barrage of light upon the vessel.

Gideon's Tomb

Memories flowed, as did reflexes and muscle memory. After defeating Darkbeasts and losing a weapon or two, a number of the beasts were defeated, including the Prowler.

Meanwhile, Tsakirr had fought to the best of his abilities, a swordsman in constant motion, always cutting into incoming hands, wrists and thighs, and occasionally utilized his magical swirling darkness to strike back foes. As a psionic, he would also dodge, his skips boosted by his psionics that propelled him with greater vigour. At times, he used his psionics to seemingly stun or stifle a Darkbeast, leaving it vulnerable to slices.

The darkness and its black and red fog continued growing, and the two Unhallowed overheard a shriek coming from outside. The shriek was very long, yet at the same time, it did not sound stressed. At that, more silhouettes began appearing, and just when Gideon was probably about to fight one, something grabbed him by both legs. He fell, and was dragged out one of the arched window frames, and then suddenly found himself hanging upside-down!

Looking around, glowing whiteness beaming out his visor, Gideon realized that a very long arm, with multiple elbows along its length, had grabbed him, the fingers so long they grasped around both his greaves. The arm was of shadows, the same as the other Darkbeasts but, apparently, sticking out the shadowy ground, thirty feet long, and having an elbow every five feet.

The first Darkbeast Gideon saw stood where he stood, arms raised and head tilted back, then it scrunched up, knelt, and sprang upright, and shrieked again. At that, the shadowy multi-elbowed arm raised Gideo and slammed him against the wall of his tomb, impact causing dust to fall, but his rusty armour remained intact.

Suddenly, Tsakirr jumped out one of the window frames, using his psionics to curl around the arm, spinning midair and cutting at the arm twice with every revolution, damaging it enough to sever a few tendons, but it nevertheless remained grasping Gideon. The first Darkbeast shrieked again, and several narrow tendrils of shadows whipped out the ground, grasping Tsakirr and pulling him down, of which he started struggling, writhing and kicking, using his psionics to untangle the tendrils, but every time he cut through or snapped apart a tendril, another appeared. During this struggle, he dropped one of his curved serrated swords.

Gideon felt the arm holding him jerk, intending to slam him against a nearby tree, dragging him along the ground passed Tsakirr, right where Tsakirr had dropped one of his curved swords...

George,
You can still control this scene entirely in relation to Gideon; find a way to free him from the giant arm.
It seems that the first Darkbeast who appeared is able to summon armatures from the shadows...

Ikelos' Domain

Analee had a few more questions, and Miranda was skeptical. Regardless of their words, they both felt magic flowing through them, Miranda a little uneasy by it! The big white dragon, Ikelos, remained concentrating, closing his eyes and thinking deeply, not paying any attention to the two ladies' words.

“You wish to help and heal others, young elf? So be it, the magic you feel for, has also chosen you.” Ikelos said, and then Analee felt compassion flow through her veins. She received memories, ancient thoughts, images of the past, seeing visuals of healing, sympathy, kindness, and then an aurora of pure whiteness flowed into her body, and she felt herself absorb this magic...

Analee had gained Simple Aspromancy. It granted her the ability of allowing her to preform petty miracles of healing anything, exorcisms, and her presence would enfeeble undead. Unlike ieromancy, aspromancy would not initiate hatred by evil folk. Having obtained all memories necessary, Analee's aspromancy is added to her power.

Miranda wished to just teleport out of here.

“That wish can be granted.” Ikelos remarked, and at that, she felt a blue aurora swirl into her, and the veins in her eyes and under her skin glowed of blue. As the aurora was absorbed by her body, she obtained memories of the past, of herself, her training. She felt her thoughts feel... stronger, as if her thoughts could be thought outside her skull. The obtained memories granted her knowledge of Major Teleporting, allowing her to teleport even other objects and lesser beings up to her body weight.

“Miranda, you may deny your bloodline, but you cannot reject the power you can gain. If you wish to leave, think about yourself, and you will awaken. It seems a creature of darkness is gazing at your body.” Ikelos said, then turned his head to look back at Analee.

“Your terrible fate is what you dreamt of. So powerful are the dreams of Morpheus, they can even control people in their sleep. If you wish to change your fate, you must travel to the End of the World, and find the End King. He is the only mortal being in your world who has the power to take you to the netherworld, where your people currently are, taken by the Darkbeasts, who themselves have fallen into chaos. Although my domain - where we are now - is a part of the netherworld, it is cut-off from the rest of it, and as you are now, you are just a dream; you cannot save your people as a dream. Remember your vision, it has shown you what lies ahead of you. Do you have anything else to bespeak of?”
