Calliope's cheeks lost most of their heat as she smiled. "Strange as it may sound, I do too..." she whispered, leaning forwards - whispering straight into Lore's ear, her cheek grazing against his.

"That's not strange to me..." Lore whispered back reassuringly then kissed her on the cheek again.

Lily smirk. "Sure... won't ever do it again." Lily mocked him.

Calliope smiled, and kissed Lore's cheek as well. Then, she changed, and kissed his nose - and finally his lips, letting the kiss linger there.

"Oh, it's you again." Xenos smirked.

"Well, who would it be..brother." Rose said. She charged at him, sword in hand, and Xenos pulled his out too. They clashed, and make a somewhat loud sonic boom but it didnt effect the inn.

Zaku felt like slaping her he was so anoyed with the added drinks of effects of makeing his head hurt and he swore something in demonic. " Alright sunshine well why dont you try one and see how well you do.

Lore let the kiss continue not pulling away he gently pulled Calliope closer and closed his eyes, this was one of the few times he had been truely happy in his life.

"Fine I will!" Lily hissed and ordered a drink exactly like Zaku's, she took a drink and stood their unfazed.

Calliope wrapped her arms loosely around Lore's neck - her eyes were, obviously, closed - but everything seemed so clear anyways.

" Must not effect your species or something... I bet my friend surmantis could out drink you though.

Lore wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled away a little. "I'm glad I met you... you've made me happy for once in my life." Lore wisphered to her.

Lily stood their smirking. "Aww having to call your buddy out to beat a little girl in a small competition." She mocked.

Surmantis walked in. "What? Outdrink?"

Calliope smiled, running a hand through Lore's hair. "Love at first sight..." she mumbled, a blissfully happy expression on her face.

Zaku made a motion with his hands and the drink lily was holding splashed in her face.

" Your finaly awake! This is lores anoying sister.. She likes to hiss.. He said pointing at her.

Surmantis raised an eyebrow at Lore's sister.
"Afternoon, or evening, or whatever it is."

He looked at everyone, it was getting crowded here, wasn't it?

Lore smiled. "To good to be true, yet her we are." Lore said giving her another kiss.

Lily looked glared at him as the liquid steamed off of her face and evaporated. "Your going to wish Lore had killed you first." Lily told Zaku in a quiet threat.

Surmantis stepped forward.
"Once you step over my cold, dead body."

It wasn't a suggestion...It was a cold fact.

Zaku just smiled at her. The effects of the drink had warn off.

Calliope kissed Lore back, putting more passion into that kiss this time. ~This feeling... it's so strange... yet so nice...~ she thought, feeling all warm and tingly inside.

Although Calliope didn't know it Lore was feeling the exact same feeling at the same moment, he let the kiss continue as long as he could.

Lily looked at the man. "Coward... hiding behind others." Lily looked up at the man who did out size her. "Why do you protect him?"

Surmantis smiled thinly.
"Because he will and has done the same thing for me, on multiple occasions."

The smile vanished.
"And that's why if you make him your enemy, you make me your enemy too."

Zaku gave surmantis a glance that said thank you. " Anyway.. It was just a joke.. You think you can insult me all day and i cant get you back?

Lily drew her sword. "Move, I want to duel him, and don't worry I won't hurt him... much." Lily said flatly.

Zaku sighed. " Dueling really isnt my fighting style and this area wont give me the space i need.. Owell...

Some of the water arond him started to spin arond and froze into what looked like a sword.

" Dont worry surmantis but you can try her after me okay?

He made a motion with one of his hands and grabed the sword with the other.

Surmantis stepped aside.
"This time it's an exception.
Either of you go too far and I stop it."

He glared at both of them in turn.
"Okay, kill each other."

Lily stepped foward. "If you've seen my brother fight then this won't suprise you." Lily giggled and vanished, then something poked Zaku in the back and Lily whispered. "Your move..."

" Hmmm thats anoying.. I guess ill use a little of my ablitys for this.. A wall of ice appeared behind him and he steped into it the water ran off.

" Over here. He said in one mirror by the wall

" No here.. Another copy of himself said nearby.

" Or here... Another mirror was on the ceiling and the sword was just above her head.

Lily jumped out of the way becoming visible again she picked up a cup and threw it at one of the mirrors before readying herself to attack him when he came out.

Surmantis interjected.
"If you break things you have to pay for them."

3 new mirrors appeared in the room and zaku was in all of them. " I prefer long range attacks.. The sword melted into 3 knifes that all the images threw and the knifes came out of the mirror at her. Zaku made sure they would melt before they hit if they did.

Lily shattered a knife with her blade ignoring the man's warning as she backflipped over the other two, she cracked one of the mirrors with her sword hilt as she landed. "Come out and fight!"

Zaku grined in the mirror. " What like this? He said holding a knife to her neck behind her. The images on the mirrors were still there.

Lily froze. "I'm not going to be bested that easily." She said through gritted teeth and vanished again.

" I knew you wouldnt.. If you could defend yourself and your brother from all those black demons i know it wouldnt be that easy. He stood there smileing as the zaku in the mirrors got out more knifes.

Knives came flying from every mirror, coming towards her, but only one of them was real.

Which one?

Lily turned to the nearest mirror. "I didn't do anything, that was Lola who saved us while we ran." Lily hissed swinging at the knives randomly.

The knife homing for her left temple suddenly dissolved into water as the others passed right through her.

Zaku looked out from the farthest mirror.
"Had enough yet?"

Lily jumped a little when the water hit her. "Fine..." Lily huffed and put her sword away then sat down at the bar and crossed her arms. "I could've beaten him..." She said to herself.

Zaku came out of the mirror and they all dissolved.

Zaku sighed.
"You're good."

He then went up to his room to take a nap.

Surmantis unfolded his arms and walked over to her.
"Aye, nice job, it's obvious you were both holding back though."

"I'm much better when I can morph..." Lily told him as she blew a stray strand of hair out of here face and ordered a tea. "The dragon city buildings are all made to accomadate us in either form."

Surmantis regarded her curiously.
"where I come from, after two people have it out, they usually become friends."

He sat down in a nearby chair.

"Somehow I doubt this will be like that."

"Where I come from after two people have had it out the victor parades the dead body about on a spear... or if it's a male vs. female..." Lily gave a visible shudder. "... other things." she wrapped her arms around herself protectivly.

Surmantis shrugged.
"It's up for debate which is the more sane...Or at least the less INsane."

He got another of those amazingly brain-cell-destroying beers and sipped it thoughtfully.

"I would rather die than suffer the things that I've heard happen to female dragon-kin after losing a battle." She had a disgusted look on her face. "Dying would be the sanest thing to do if it where my choice."

Surmantis looked over at her.
"The argument for my people is that if you're going to fight, kill.

The argument for yours is that if you're going to fight, fight with honor."

"Unfortunatly the argument doesn't always apply to our kind." Lily shuddered again. "I'm glad I've never fought another dragon-kin..." Lily said taking a sip of tea.

Surmantis stood up.
"There are always alternatives to fighting."

He walked to the shelf and began to look through books.

"So you and the scholars of the city say..." replied Lily. "So do you always fight to kill?" She asked him sliding her hand to her sword hilt casually.

Surmantis noted the hand.
He kept his eyes on the book.

"Not always. When it's kill or die, I kill. Which is too often."

"Do you kill people younger than you?" Lily asked and began to move her hand back to the bar but only made it half way.

Surmantis looked back at the girl.
"Why are you asking me these things?"

He closed the book with a snap.

"I like to know things... a extra measure of defence." Lily said sliding her hand and gripping the hilt of her sword. "Their's more than several people who won't hesitate to kill a little girl." She told him.

Surmantis put the book back.
"I don't kill people who don't try to kill me."

"Nice to know... to put it bluntly I've never fought a demon, I've fought though, but I've never went against a real demon, I either ran or Lore killed it..." She hated admitting this. "For all I know I could be harmless against demons..." She had the tone of defeat in her voice.

Surmantis turned away.
"You may want to consider just why you fight demons."

He looked out the window at the rapidly growing darkness.

"I'm not sure... I admit that, my brother doesn't even know why, he just... it's how he vents anger." Lily sighed. "He... he just never got over it... watching them die... it just... he couldn't take it." Lily's voice began to break. "I closed my eyes as he pulled me away..."

Surmantis stepped closer.
"The same thing happened to me."

He looked at the ceiling.
"I couldn't kill those responsible."

He looked back at the girl.
"But that taught me a lesson."

He paced in a slow circle.
"People always get what they deserve.
In the long run, things always come out fair."

Lily went and laid down on the couch not bothering to move the hair from her eyes. "That's what my brother doesn't get." Lily said quietly as she shake* a little.

Surmantis stopped, and looked at her.
"Are you feeling alright?"

She certainly didn't look it.

Xenos came out of nowhere, holding his little sister. She seemed dead, but she was alive. The battle between Rose and Xenos was intense, and Xenos won. No wonder he is one of the last, other than Rose herself. He carried her up to his room, a small drip of blood here and there. It wasn't coming from Rose either.

"It's hard for me to recall the thoughts... I can't stand them... it's too much for me." Lily said quietly still shaking a little. "All the fighting we've gone through... the deaths... I hate it, I just want my family back..." Sighed Lily curling her arms around her protectively.

Surmantis looked abstractly out the window.
"They're not coming back.

Neither are my dead loved ones."

"You don't have to tell me that, I know their not coming back, trying tying down Lore and telling him that..." Lily said as she shook less and less but she remained on the couch with her long blond hair covering up her face...

*urmantis raised an eyebrow and paced in a circle some more.
He had been doing that alot lately hadn't he?

Xenos walked back downstairs, and sat on a couch that happened to be one across from Lily. "I understand what it's like.." he said. "Everyone I know is dead..Or atleast not everyone. My sister is the only one that is alive.. And I'm a living demon. How am I supposed to handle her then?" Xenos asked.

Lily's cringed she try to pull together some hate but she just sighed, she wasn't able to put forth anything. "Oh..." Lily said with flatness, she just laid there depressed...

Surmantis looked at Xenos.
"Decribe, 'demon'," he said pointedly.

"Demon as in, unearthly being. Descendant of hell?" Xenos tried to describe. "I just can't control it though.. Observe." He changed into his angel form, looking godly, then back to his human form. "I don't want to change into my demon because if I did, I wouldn't be able to control it."

Lily sighed... she wasn't impressed. "Sorry if I'm not responding to this the way you wanted to... I'm just to tired to put on a show like my brother..." Lily said flatly.

Surmantis raised an eyebrow.
"That's not a demon."

He walked back and forth.
"A demon can be any race. 'Demon', human, anything.

It's not what you are, it's what you believe."

"But you don't understand. It can control me!" Xenos said, emphasizing 'control'.

Surmantis looked at Xenos.
"Is it controlling you now?"

"No, or else I would be glowing red.. have horns, black wings.. pitch black eyes and such. My whole clan had this ability, but they could control the demon. Everyone is different, too. I could show you, but I am afraid I could destroy the Inn.." Xenos muttered the last sentence.

*888* Surmantis looked harshly at the man.
"Well, control it then!" *888*

He began pacing again.
*888*"There's a demon inside everyone. If you let it out, God help you and anyone around. If you control it, it does what you tell it to." *888*

Lily turned her back to the couch, she was getting tired of listening to this demon prattle along about how it could destroy stuff by 'accident'. "I'm tired..." she muttered...

"But, this one is actually visible.." Xenos said. "I will show you when my sister wa-..." he stopped as Rose walked down into the lobby. What a coincidence? "Ok, here goes.." he said, closing his eyes. When he opened them, they were pitch black, and he had horns. His wings were folded in, and his aura was brighter then normal.

(( Im giveing surmantis/ choco broco the number 888 when he says something interesting ))
