Ah, very beautifully written. Can't say I agree with everything in it, but it really is a wonderful work of literature; which is even more impressive considering English isn't your first language... Incidentally, while I didn't cry at the end, my eyes did water... well done, it's a rare day when something can get that much of a reaction out of me.
I do have a few questions though:
1) Why do you write so much tragedy? (of course, the only stories of your's I've read are this and "The Priceless", maybe there are some happy stories written by you lying around somewhere?)
2) In the words one of your readers used in "The Priceless" why do your stories seem to focus on... erm, "two swords" instead of "a sword and a sheath?"
I understand that such things allow for the idea of "love despised by the world" but then again, given the time period, so would a status gap (which you did have), inter-cultural, inter-racial, and even inter-religious love. So is their any reason why you seem to focus on this particular type of love?
I only dislike two things about this story, and neither of them were related to the quality of the story (which as I mentioned before, is excellent) and they are:
1) You killed Tyler (and we all know Edward died) and they were such a cute couple ;~;
2) I honestly am not sure I can say this one, because it might be construed as starting a political discussion... ironically, some would probably say it contradicted part of my last statement.

EDIT: By the way, congrats on escaping the notice of the troll name Mr Mcmrs (for now) When I was reading the comments on "The Priceless" I saw he posted and got reprimanded by a JMod, that made the rest of my day ^_^

Hey there.
Do I know you, under another name?
Anyway, thank you for posting and letting me know you've read my humble story. I really appreciate your kind words, as they really mean a lot to me.
Your eyes did water? Mine's didn't when I wrote it :P Yeah, some stories do have strange powers over our eyes. I remember that my sister cried when Dumbledore died ^_^
Questions are welcomed!
For why I write tragedy, well, technically speaking, I feel more comfortable writing it, as it comes more naturally to me, because I am used to invoking strong emotions and am prone to give a simple sentence a really sad twist. I only ever did write one happy ending, but that was with the protagonist thrown out from his family, so, nothing too corny! From a personal point of view, as terrible as I am to say, I do not want my characters better off than I am. Maybe due to life experiences, I don't know. And sometimes I put a bit of myself in a story and think, hey, I don't really deserve a happy ending because that would make writing too self-serving. Lastly, given the type of audience I usually get here, I would think that tragedy would carry across the moral lesson better than a happy ending, because it is through that we learn something about the modern society, and what we need to do to improve it.
Ah, the Frodo 'Swords' and 'Sheathes' analogy. Goodness, that's just so crude. Anyway, I write about it, I think, because this is a subject of personal interest to me, without giving away much! If that answers your question.
Now, onto the dislikes!
