((Oh yes, this is a roleplay that I can definitely get behind. Who knows, it might get as epic as another roleplay about Gods that I read about.))

Name(s): Sol, The White Dragon, The Pure Flame, Death's Bane.

Gender(s): Gender-Fluid, but Male more often then not.

Age: Young

Affiliation(s)/Purpose: Light, Fire, and Life are his affiliations. His purpose though, is more of a self-given one. To travel where he can, to bring light to the darker realms, to burn away sources of corruption in them, and to give life where there is only death.

Form(s): Sol's first form is actually quite mundane, and is actually a throwback to his days as a mortal. He appears as a young man, likely in his twenties. He possess a handsome face, though it normally has a blank expression on it. Of middling height and normal weight, he doesn't look all to threatening at first glance. Sure, he is wearing what looks to be a white leather armor, and has two swords on his back. And sure, the muscles that you can see don't look to big, they are just toned. Well, that is where his mortal appearance ends and his godlike one begins. His hair, once as black as the world that was his home, is now as white as a beam of pure light. And his eyes, once so dark and determined, are now a bright amber color, and emanate the power within.

His second form, is not even human. And, in fact, draws on the legend that caused him to come to be. To be frank, it is that of a dragon. Not one of the eastern dragons that are serpentine, but more like the western ones. Only about the size of a small house, he is a young god after all, he is non the less still impressive. His white scales shine in the light, and his amber eyes seem to radiate with an inner fire.

Sol's third form is that of a woman, something that caused him no end of troubles when he first discovered it. Like his other two forms, the woman shares the white hair color, though hers is long. And amber eyes, though hers are softer and more kind. TBC...

Form(s) cont: While she is shorter then Sol's other forms, and not as suited for combat, that doesn't mean that she isn't powerful. She radiates an aura of peace from her, and with her beautiful appearance, she is completely unassuming to gods and able to blend in with mortals. Of course, Sol doesn't use this form very often. Only when he is trying to go undetected, or when he is preforming large acts of giving life, does he take this form.

Power(s): While Sol has access to all of his powers, regardless of form, he subconsciously chooses to associate certain powers with his various forms. Also, due to being a rather young god, he does need to periodically recharge his powers in a lightwell, something of his own creation. Said lightwells are in his personal realm, and in the realm he is worshiped in.

In the form of Sol, he has a fairly good amount of control over light. This goes from the simple task of creating a light in his hand, to causing beams of pure light to fire from any point in his body. Of course, that last example does take a lot out of him if he hasn't recharged in a while. He also has some control over fire, enough to not be harmed by most flames, and life, enough to heal minor wounds.

In the form of the White Dragon, as one might expect, his control over fire is pretty much equal to So's control over light. He also, is able to fly with his wings and has immense physical strength. His control over light, is good enough that he can choose to glow, and of life, he is only able to heal himself.

Finally, the form of the Pure Flame. As Sol doesn't take this form to often, he was born a male after all, he doesn't really know what this form is completely capable of. What he does know, however, is that in this form his flexibility and agility are at their highest, and he is able to bring life where there was death, whether in humans or in the land itself.

Realm: While Sol prefers to live amongst his worshipers, that doesn't mean that he doesn't have his own personal realm. His realm, is that of a simple house, the one he had originally grown up in. While most of the features remain as he remembers, there is a light well that he placed in what was once his room.

Subjects: While Sol hasn't personally created any subjects, that isn't to say that he doesn't have any who are loyal to him, or would fight for him. His primary ones, are the people that he once fought with and for as a mortal, and now leads as their god. His secondary, and much less in number, ones are dragons. There are only ten currently remaining, and all of them are to young to reproduce at the current time. The reside on top of a mountain in his world. The mountain is the only thing outside of his influence that breaks the cloud line and experiences light.

Acolytes: None, yet.

Source of Worship: As mentioned before, Sol is worshiped by the people within his sphere of influence on his former home world. Their numbers are not to great, less then a quarter million, but with his guidance, they are slowly growing. And while he does receive power from his worshipers, the main source comes from the Lightwell at the center of his sphere. Everyday, his followers that are able usually preform at least one prayer, or act of worship at the well. This, along with being in the light of the sun, gives the well energy and is a more direct way for a quick recharge or healing.

Backstory: As with many other gods, Sol began his life as a mortal. His life, indeed the life of all the people on his home world, was not an easy one. For as long as anyone could remember, the land was eternally dark. While it's people had adapted, light was still a necessity, and so most got it through flames. Of course, as one might expect, many things lived in the darkness, and the attacks by those beings were a constant threat.

His world, only had one city. With it's high and easily defensible walls, the creatures of the darkness would always struggle to get in. However, every time one of the creatures was cut down, another always seemed to take it's place. The strangest thing though, was that the creatures always seemed to be repelled by light. The light of fires, however, would only hold off the lesser ones, or a single greater creature. The people of the world strove to find a way to gain a better source of light. For, if they had more light, then they could drive the monsters away.

So, it was this goal that a young man whose name has been lost to time set himself to do. He would tirelessly strive to learn how to create a better source of light. For, while he didn't fear the dark, he saw how everyone else did. Eventually, the young man found something that could be the answer to everyone's problems. After sharing his findings with the head of the Defenders, the people who kept them all safe, he was granted permission to do a dangerous and rare thing, become an Explorer.

Explorer's, were often considered the bravest and strongest people in the land. They would go out beyond the safety of the city and attempt to find things, whether they be new technologies, food, or even nests of the creatures. It was this group, that the young man joined, eager to find the answer to what he was looking for. He trained hard with these elite soldiers, spreading word of his possible findings and giving the people something they hadn't had in a long time, hope.

Backstory cont: Time would pass, and the young man would eventually become strong enough to journey out beyond the walls with the rest of the Explorers. Their mission, to find the crystal that the young man had told them about. They would search many times, each coming up with nothing. And while the people began to lose hope, the young man didn't. Each time they left the walls, he knew he was getting closer to the crystal, the answer to their problems.

Soon enough, a team of Explorers would return with news, they had found the location of the crystal! The young man was ecstatic, wanting to know where it was. The Explorer team however, had bad news as well. The crystal was guarded by creatures most fierce, and no one was willing to get it. No one, except the young man.

He would leave in the middle of the night, only a note to his sister informing her where he went, and he wouldn't be seen again. Many years would pass, his name and research being forgotten by all except for the Explorers and his sister. Eventually though, the Explorers would stumble across a sight in the caves beneath a mountain. It was a skeleton, wearing the ruined leather armor of the Explorers. While no note was near it, there was one thing, the crystal.

The explorers rushed home with both the skeleton and the crystal, hoping beyond all hope that their fallen comrades efforts hadn't been in vain. And while they were attacked by many creatures, nothing would stop them, and they eventually returned home.

On their return, they would search through the young man's notes, desperate as to how to activate the crystal, but they would find nothing. They would eventually take the note to the young man's sister, but she was not happy, but sorrowful. She had no additional insight on the crystal, and was beside herself with grief. For, while her brother retrieved the crystal, it had cost him his life.

Backstory cont: Distraught as she was, the sister had now given up hope completely. Her brother was well and truly gone, and the thing he gave his life for was useless. Having been given the crystal and her brothers armor and ashes, they had burned the skeleton as was tradition, she was ready to give up on life itself. So, she would go to the center of the town, where the great well was that they all received their drinking water, it being connected to an underground ravine.

Determined to end her own suffering, she would hold close her brothers armor and ashes, wishing to be with him in the end. In front of a large crowd of people, she would slit her own throat with the crystal, before falling down the well with all that she held. No one would rush to stop her of course, they had all known she was the sister of the young man who gave them hope, and they knew she had lost hers.

Time would continue to pass, and the story about the young man and his sister would fall into myth, after all there could be no way that there was a source of light. All of that changed though, one day.

A loud roaring was heard outside of the city walls, and nobody knew the source. After all, the creatures never made a sound, even when they died. Eventually though, a great beast on massive wings would fly over the walls of the city, and begin to rain fire on them. Oh how the people screamed, as that which kept them safe was now killing them. The beast eventually reached the center of town, where the well, now broken and no longer used was.

No one was quite sure what happened next, as many accounts vary. The most common tale though, was that the beast would rise above the well, and shoot a great gout of fire into the sky, breaking the shroud of darkness and letting in pure light. The light would be seen briefly, flowing down into the well, before everything changed.

Backstory cont: A great white light would erupt from the well, consuming the beast and illuminating everything for a large distance. The light itself would slowly fade, until only a single beam erupted from the well and broke the shroud of darkness, much like the beasts flames did.

People rushed to this light, some remembering the old stories of a young man, his sister, a crystal, and a source of light. On their arrival, they would be met with the sight of a confused young man, hair as white as the light he stood in, and eyes the color of flames. The young man would look upon all of the people, hope and awe in their eyes, and smile.

This new being, Sol, had all the memories of his former life, and strangely enough memories of his sisters. And while he revealed who he was, the rumors of his life were to distorted, and he would never find out what happened to his sister. He didn't let this deter him though, and with his new found powers, he would begin to spread the light over the land. He would lead the Defenders and Explorers in expanding their territory.

And when the fighting was done, when the people required food, he would change and give them what they needed. Whether it be healing their bodies, or the fields so they could grow their own food. And while he knew that he transformed into a female each time he did so, something he vowed to stop from happening, he never looked into a mirror while in this form. And if he did, he would see his sisters face looking back at him.

Eventually, after a time where his people had enough territory to grow and prosper for a time, he would leave to the place he died, some strange impulse pulling him there. It would lead him to a mountain, and he would climb to the tallest peak, and find himself in the light, without his power causing it. It was there that he found ten eggs, and that the White Dragon was born.

Other: While they posses some technology, and have been around for a while, the people of Sol's world don't have the most diverse dialect. Most of the words they know have been passed down to them through the ages, and only rarely are new words used.

While Sol is able to read and speak other languages, something he discovered when looking at ancient scrolls and books found in ruins that his people could safely explore thanks to his light, he does not understand what many of the words mean, so he does not use them. If he is given examples of the various words though, he would understand them easily and begin to use them.

((Okay, that should be all. I can't really think of anything else. This post is going to be a reserve for if I need it.))

((Oh, and what do you all think of the backstory?))

(( Fysyx , you can ABSOLUTELY have a character that started off as a human. This happened very frequently in mythology. Hercules for example, impressed the gods so much that when he died, they deified him. There's also a story about an emperor who was in love with a man named Antinous, and when Antinous died, the Emperor couldn't bear to let him go, so to immortalize him, Antinous was also deified.

Just provide a background of how they attained their godhood.

It seems like Solrac is doing something similar :)

I like the back story. It's good that you have an entire legend that goes with your god. I was thinking, when I made this, that people would mostly pick like, Greek/Roman gods. I was surprised that so far, it seems everyone but me has made one of their own.
Nice surprise though.
I'll add Sol to the list.

By the way Fysyx , I would probably go with a god of winter. There's probably fewer of them, and I think it fit nicely with what we already have. Whatever you prefer is completely alright though. In fact, if you really wanted, you could have a god of both.

Since I think Fysyx is going to be posting a bio soon, I'll go ahead and hold off a little longer on making the first post.

Thanks, everyone!))

((Would a deity of Knowledge and Time be acceptable? Because I know a concept like that is inherently overpowered should it be allowed to go full range, my idea was more along the lines of a deity that once controlled both in their full potential but ended up getting the ability to know everything as well as the full control of time sealed away due to attempts to act on that knowledge. The purpose now is more to safeguard the two from people who attempt to do the same thing, and keep the harmony of time flowing from the beginning to the end.

It's a bit of a work in progress, since I don't quite know what the actual abilities and such would be, but I figured I should ask before I put too much effort into creating it.))
Done in by the dubious doings of destiny.
