ACOLYTES: Adrian’s acolyte is the sea of metallic balls. The sea is known as Krango, and is of one consciousness. It can separate itself into many different forms, and shapes, and acts as one mind, controlling everything it forms. It does not speak, but clicks. Krango is there to serve Adrian, and do the biding that is willed.

POWERS(S): Adrian is not a very powerful god. Adrian can only suggest that someone walk in the direction of fear or courage. But once the being has decided which path it will choose, Adrian either re-enforces the courage, eases the knot in the stomach, takes away the fatigue, and clears the mind, or he increases the fear, turning it into panic, makes the knees weak, and clouds the mind. Adrian is rarely seen creating something. His only known creation is Krango, his subject. Adrian uses Krango as a messenger of courage or fear. Krango hovers over the being, and questions the mind, until a decision is made. Once the mind has decided to choose courage or fear, Krango spreads itself over the body, and assists with the emotion. But Adrian is not all-powerful, he cannot protect you from an arrow, or an explosion, he cannot stop your parachute from not opening. Adrian is there to assist, and help achieve a goal. Nothing can be done if you don’t give him permission.
SUBJECTS: N/a. Adrian does not have subjects.

SOURCE OF WORSHIP: Adrian receives no direct worship. Adrian is worshipped by the decisions made, but choosing to give in to fear, or choosing courage, is not a potent source of worship. In times of war, Adrian becomes increasingly powerful, but in times of peace, no great risks are commonly taken.

BACKSTORY: The legend says that Adrian was once two different gods. Adrian even bears their names, Blaten and Wrike, the gods of courage and fear. Blaten and Wrike came in existence shortly after the first war was waged. Blaten and Wrike never stopped fighting over giving their assistance to those on the battlefields. After a while, the constant fighting caused the two gods to begin morphing into one. After the process was complete, Adrian came into existence. It is said that Blaten and Wrike are still fighting inside of Adrian, causing much struggle and inner strife. Adrian created Krango as his subject, for he was too weary from Blaten and Wrike inside of him. Krango did his biding until he could control his thoughts, and become a normal mind. But the process is not complete, and Adrian sometimes loose control over the two gods, and they slip through his mental barriers, causing him too look like a mad man, arguing with himself.

OTHER: Adrian is not a particularly strong god; he is seen more as an instrument for other gods to potentially use. But Adrian cannot be bought, or is he fair. Adrian is almost subject to his followers. He requires them to decide, and only then does he act. Anybody can say no to fear, and no to courage. It all depends on what they choose, if the choice is given to them at all. Adrian does not enjoy fighting, and would rather be left to tend the war inside him, which requires much concentration to control.

((Please let me know what you think, and what I could improve on! Also, if i could have a recap on the current events following the arrival to New York, that would be appreciated. Thank you!))

((Von Varr, your bio looks excellent. My only comment is that Krango seems more like an acolyte than a subject, as subjects would be more like “minions” for lack of a better term, and Krango seems to serve a higher function than that. But of course that’s up to you to determine.

I’ll add you to the player’s list and post once more to give you that recap and help you enter.))

A warm desert wind swirled out from the Eonfold, and into Adrian’s home. It smelled almost sickly sweet and much like cloves, and it carried a voice.

“I was watching Bastet’s world when she was destroyed.”

Another gust of wind.
“Since then, the ones that she called to help her solve this murder mystery have moved far too slowly.”

The voice was Serqet, another goddess from Bast’s same pantheon. Like the Lady of Cats, the Scorpion Goddess was a goddess of protection, but she was also a goddess of medicines and poisons, magic and nature, healing and venomous stings. In the grand history of all things she had kept quiet and solitary, but there were few gods who doubted that she was powerful, for her worship came from an ancient time of northern Africa. Her people regarded her as the force that could save from the deadly scorpions in that place. She was worshipped often, and desperately- and that made her strong.

Another gust of hot wind and fragrant spices wafted into Adrian’s home.
“If matters are allowed to escalate, then this episode will expand into an all out war amongst our kind. The first in a very long time…”

Such was true. Gods had not truly held war against one another in much scale since Jupiter had defeated Prometheus.

Heat, wind, the smell of herbs.
Serqet spoke again.
“Elatha and a new god are gathering human envoys. Nemetona and Maat have gone to confront Osiris and Isis. Set believes they may responsible in someway for unleashed Apep. I wish to become involved now. Maat calls himself Aequitas now, but he was once a part of my pantheon, as are Set and Bast. I will not see any more of my family destroyed. I sense that the powers you govern will play their fair role in this campaign. So I have come to bring you with me.*

Aromatic wind spiraled into Adrian’s realm- a request from Serke* to enter his home in person and speak to him face to face.

Adrian's sense peeked. Someone was talking to him. A familiar voice for sure, but one he had not heard in a long time.

~
Serquet requests an audience
~ A voice in his said spoke.

"I have no desire to get involved. If the others can't do something, why would I be able to. Doesn't make much sense" Adrian whispered to himself.

*
What if we could? Won't hurt to try
.~ A voice said again.

He quietly got up from his seat in the study room, and walked to the door. His hand reached for the door, to let Serquet in, but his arm froze. "I should consult Krango, he has always been honest with me." whispered Adrian to himself.

Adrian summoned a part of his only companion to the cabin. The sea became agitated, and spat out a blob of metal that clicked like a moan, and began to form the shape of a man. The form walked slowly to the cabin, and opened the door.

"I need to know what you think Krango. Serquet wants to join me here to discuss this 'quest'. Should i do it?"

The metal form seemed to stare at Adrian standing in the living room. Following a moment of silence, it began to move and produce sound from the clicking of metal. Nothing resembling any other tongue every heard, but Adrian understood it.

"Alright, if you think it is in our best interest. I'll look into it. I may be required to leave, you'll be fine without me. You may go."

Krango walked out of the door, and it closed behind him. The sea engulfed the human figure, and returned to it's normal state.

~
So we are doing this, what if it all goes wrong, who will take care of Krango
?~

"If I die, he dies. I made him. Now shut up, I have company." Whispered Adrian.

Adrian extended his mind to Serquet and opened his realm to the welcomed visitor.

((I see, an acolyte makes more sense. I'll go ahead and change that! Thanks for accepting me!))

((Happy to have you aboard! I’ll post once more to help get you in, and then I think I’ll wait a bit and give Solrac a chance.))

Serqet appeared on Adrian’s hearth as if she had been knocking on his door, waiting for him to answer. In a way, she had
. She took the form a woman in her thirties (beautiful as most gods chose to be) with dark mud colored skin and eyes that were golden like desert sand. Her head was completely bald, but decorated with an ornament of golden chains and baubles that resembled the tails and stingers of scorpions, intertwined together. She wore a white gown with no sleeves, held together around her neck with a golden collar. Draped across her chest and back, in the same way one would wear a quiver for arrows, she wore a sash of vibrant red silk, to which many bags were tied. The small bags, in all materials and sizes, carried the fragrant smell of herbs and spices. In one hand she carried an ankh by the loop, and in the other, she grasped a narrow wooden rod that was far taller than herself.

“Adrian” she said.
Her voice was somehow both warm and loving, and yet cold and spiteful all at once. It was soft, and beautiful to hear.
“We’ve met before,* she said. “Though perhaps not so directly.”
Few people experienced anything other than fear when stung by one of her subjects. Some were even able to replace that fear with courage and seek out help. In this way, Adrian and Serqet had been connected in the past.

She let herself into his home, carrying a warm breeze and spicy aroma with her as she moved. When she walked, scorpions emerged from beneath her dress. They skittered about her feet and scurried back under the folds of white fabric once she stopped still.
Too another god, she was not so impressive- but any mortal would have trembled with both fear and reverence to see her.

“We’ve met only in a specific context,” she told Adrian once she had stepped inside his home. “Where it concerns my dominion, and the place where it overlaps yours. “Dying and fear. Bravery and life,” she said. “But you must know I serve other functions too… There was a time, you know, before Set controlled Apep. When Set was still the usurper. In those days Apep was left to run rampant and consume gods in the way Bast was consumed. I am a goddess of protection against venomous things like snakes… trying to contain the Chaos Snake became my responsibility. With Ra, I was able to ensnare the creature,”

As she spoke, she shared memories of a violent past. Worlds falling, and gods being destroyed- gods that would take generations of mortals to reconstruct themselves and their worlds. She let Adrian see herself beside Ra, the sun and his chariot behind them as they worked together to Bind Apep close to the chariot.

“Now that Apep is loosed once more, I feel I must act,” Serqet explained. “But… I am afraid,” she chuckled in a tone that was perhaps embarrassment. “We are different than mortals. My fear offers no sustenance to you. Nor would my bravery. But I knew I would feel better with an ally beside me when I go to take part in this conflict. I did not know who to turn to,” she admitted. “But an intuition led me here.”

~

Laughter erupted from all corners of the chaotic realm.

One is almost insulted by you, Maat.
You call One 'King' and 'Queen'
But how can One be two? You speak to a single god now. Much has changed, Maat. And Anubis is not here to play that game with you. Why are you truly here?
And who... is this?

“Nemetona,” the Celtic goddess replied to the twin and their realm without hesitation. Osiris and Isis were amongst the most powerful and oldest of the gods. She knew better than to take them lightly, but she refused to be afraid of them. “I was called here to investigate a matter with Aequitas.”

There was no reply from the inaudible and disembodied voice of the twins.

*I’m sure you know,” Nemetona said with distaste. “Bast was destroyed. Her world was eaten by the demon-snake Apep.*

Apep is Set's toy
not mine

“Set, sent us here,” she answered quickly.

Oh?
And why do you suppose?
The twin gods asked Would One be suspected by the Usurper? Perhaps...
Do you imagine...
The Usurper is still jealous?
Perhaps…
The Usurper means to lead you astray?
Perhaps...
The Usurper wishes you to make enemies that you could not possibly challenge.

Nemetona suddenly felt a strange pang in her chest. Power had suddenly left her. There was a very old alter in England that belonged to her. She suddenly knew that it had been ripped away from her. In the 1950’s there were cultists who worshiped Isis, though they called her Aset. Nemetona already knew what happened. One of them had had a vision of the alter in England, and feeling Isis, destroyed it.

Nemetona smirked, unwilling to let her rage show. She looked to Aequitas to tell him, without words, what had happened to the alter. She gave him Knowing- Isis and Osiris had attacked her.

Laughter, again, came from all across the realm of the twin gods.
Well?
Why would the Usurper send you here of all places?
To insult the sovereign of gods

"Yes, I recognize your aroma. You are welcomed in my home." Adrian said.

Adrian stayed attentive to the what was being said, like a school boy, having been just reprimanded. His gaze did not shift, and he stood straight, hands behind his back.

"Fear, fear? Don't you know? 'There is nothing to fear but fear itself.'" Adrian let out a chuckle. Human quotes amused him, they were redundant. "Fear of something brings more fear, only by choosing not to fear, do we truly get rid of fear. A seed is all it takes."

Adrian relaxed himself, and crossed his arms. His gaze shifted to the ground underneath Serquet's feet, and he spoke firmly.

"Before I accept to help you, I feel I must know more of Apep. Why was it set loose again? Who set is loose?"

Adrian leaned on the back of a chair in his living room, expecting the answer to be complicated and long. It had been a while since Adrian had meddled in the affairs of gods, but something was different in Serquet's aroma. He could really sense a hint of fear.

((NOTE: My attempt here is to force a personality split in between the two gods merged as one, or at least create tension between the two personalities, impairing their power))

Aequitas caught his ally's stare, before long, he was aware of the treacherous deed. With a deep sigh, he focused his gaze into the orange horizon, his stance remaining unchanged by the gliding sand of the dunes.

"You say you speak as one, yet you act as a coward. Where is Osiris' honor? I can only feel Isis' weakness..." He knew those words would cut deep, Maat had worked with Osiris very closely when in the underworld, they had become close. "Isis, you do not deceive. Through all your display of power, all I see is the old goddess striving for acknowledgement. Praying for her former glory to be restored. Upon your head rests your deepest desire, the throne, and yet your dream can never be fulfilled. You have always lived in your brother's shadow and always will."

Maat shifted his speech, striving to call out to Osiris. "Where are you, my friend? Osiris, the merciful god of the undead! Have I done you wrong? Why do you hide behind your wife?"

Though the sandstorm raged on, silence was the only answer. He could feel his ally's pain, and could ignore it no longer.

"Isis..." He began anew, "You would dare to strike at us without provocation? Are you so scared of the weight of your heart? Dare I ask you to balance it on this scale against my feather?" A golden balanced materialized out of thin air, Aequitas placed the white feather on the right scale. "Somehow, I don't believe you'll participate..." He turned to Nemetona, "You've hurt my friend here, and justice requires I pay you in kind". The power of knowing would allow Isis to feel the sting operation which took place in 2012 against her Fellowship of Isis. The last Isis worshipers of the 20th century were now out of operation. "An eye, for an eye." He claimed, his voice soft, yet firm.
