As for games, in my opinion, there should be more games like Fallout New Vegas, where you have to eat and drink, and you can get broken limbs; those features would make gaming much better and more interactive.

I disagree. The fallout new vegas system was done quite well, but I would not like to see too many other games adopt a similar system. For example, using dark souls like you mentioned earlier, that game would have been completely ruined for me if I had to deal with more things like that (for reference, it's one of my favorite games made as is). Stuff like that is a little too realistic, and I don't play games for the realism.
Done in by the dubious doings of destiny.

There are mods for that, gentlemen. If you're playing on PC, that is. DUST is a mod for New Vegas to make it hardcore. Hardcore mode on New Vegas for me was a joke, because, the way I play, I end up hoarding everything of slight value. I always had plenty of food and water on me. Skyrim has Frostfall. I imagine Fallout 4 modders will devise a way to make it more difficult, too, soon. We do need more survival-focused games. The Forest was pretty good until they made the enemies uber strong. Felt like I was fighting the Terminator, last time I played.

That is true, but they had to come up with something to make you part of. Using that backstory format and giving you free reign to make up your own complete backstory is impossible, The Elder Scrolls on the other hand don't give you much details other than your being a prisoner about to be executed.

Well, considering that almost everyone on the road is a living target, it's safe to say our Bethesda characters are at least slightly sociopathic.

Or insane.

That's a given. Taking things up to eleven, I think the oblivion protagonist turned into the Skyrim Sheogorath in one of the oblivion dlc's, didn't they?

Since no one answered this question a few pages back, the answer is uncertain. In Skyrim, Sheogorath drops numerous hints about it but it was left open-ended for the player to decide whether or not their Oblivion character had become Sheogorath or not.

Personally I believe that once everything is handled in Tamriel in Oblivion, your character goes back to the Shivering Isles and remains there as Sheogorath. I mean what else is there to do?

Retire to a nice lakeside cottage and live a peaceful, comfortable life on all the riches you have gathered?

Continue to manage all of the various guilds you have taken control of?

Head to another province and start your adventuring career anew?

Becoming a Daedric Prince may seem cool, but you're also going insane to the point where you're no longer you . You're Sheogorath, and no one will ever know. So no thank you.

My belief is that all factions and sidequests happened, regardless of whether or not your character was involved. Your character is only confirmed to participate in the main quest. You didn't join the Dark Brotherhood because you don't want to be a murdering *******? Fine, some other Assassin became the Listener then. You didn't go to the Shivering Isles to become Sheogorath? Fine, some other adventurer went there and did that.

Well, actually the Nation of Osgalethe on Kingdoms of Karrus was a made up nation for the Elder Scrolls lore. It was a bit of fan fiction that I wrote as a kid, when I first got Oblivion. So basically my Oblivion Character was sent to Cyrodiil to investigate the disappearance of a Osgalethan civilian. And He never found her, but was instead caught up in the Oblivion Crisis. In the end, He never found her, and as punishment for this, he was banished in absentia by the High Elder. I have it so that he raises an army arms a ship and stages a coup and becomes High Elder of Osgalethe. so that's my ending. as far as your ending, t is up to you to make that up.
Just your friendly neighborhood gay boy! =)

To each his own. Personally, my headcanon for my Dragonborn states that her mother was the Champion of Cyrodiil who, after a short romantic tryst with the wandering Nere***ine, has a child and in a spurt of depression, decides her life is over. She doesn't want to settle down because it's "too boring" and decides to seek adventure in the Shivering Isles. Alas, she believes becoming Sheogorath is better and sticks to being a Daedra.

But it's how you play that matters. I personally do all of it and my character becomes sick and tired of handling it all and they just leave... and become the next hero in the next installment.
