On another note, the implications of this stranger's conspiracy theory are so overwhelming.
Like this, for instance...
Food shouldn't be so hard to come by at a bed and breakfast. If Etheldredda truly is in on this, did she send Judy and Zed off to find food so that they would end up acquiring the merchant's apples? As Zed noted, the apples were awfully fresh for fruit that was about to go rotten. Would this imply that the apples were poisoned, and the old lady was an agent of the hags and/or Soahc?
All of these things going on are separate events, and the stranger swears they are connected. Though we only know of Soahc's involvement in one of them. Is Soahc himself a puppet? The god of murder and chaos has become someone's little b**** and/or unwitting pawn?
Perhaps Etheldredda
and
the stranger are both either in on the scheme or pawns, and this is meant to sow dissent within the group and make them easier to wipe out?
AND HOW DOES THE ILLUMINATI FIT INTO ALL OF THIS!?!?!?!?!?
Beneath the gold, the Bitter Steel.
