But yeah if we're apologizing for old slights and arguments, boy I'd be making one hell of an apology tour. Foremost I should probably apologize to the mods for being such a Herculean pain in the ass back in the day, but in my defense I was like 13 and profoundly dumb.

Hell I'm 29 now and still pretty dumb. It's pretty odd to think that I started coming here in 2006, I would have been around 11 at the time, and now I'm knocking on the door to fucking THIRTY. At the same time I never thought I'd live to be this old, what with all of the madness in my head over the years, but I guess over time you just kind of come to terms with it. Life isn't and will never be perfect but it is what it is.

Also should probably apologize to Annie for being part of the Church of No back in the day.

And I also apologize for getting my Discord account banned for being in some weird ancap server that got yeeted off of the platform, I'm not even sure how I ended up there considering I'm certainly not an ancap.

I am glad George and Annie have found peace. I too was quite upset with Annie in the past, but we got over it, and remain friends despite all that conflict. It made me realize that lecturing people doesnt work, and sometimes, it's best to just leave things be. That's why I now have a stricter 'let them learn on their own' approach to life. It was so simple, and made my life so much easier, so for that, I'll always be grateful to Annie for--even if unintentionally--helping me realize a lesson. Sometimes, we learn the best lessons from areas we don't even realize!

I don't remember Alpha Base at all, tho. I found Blue Orb### the most toxic person I can recall, don't remember his full username, tho. He was funny to prod at that, tho XD
But thanks for sharing all that, George, I find it really peculiar you even snagged a girlfriend from the forums!

Glad to see Annie and Gun have made peace! I've also had my issues with Annie in the past but we settled that long ago. What I like about the guys here, is we've always been loyal, despite our differences. Now that is rare nowadays! So rare, in fact, I think we all deserve a round of applause for ourselves, for going above and beyond what so many could not, in-forum and at a personal level.

My main account, Azigarath, has also been a pain in the ass for Jagex for...nearly two decades, so don't be too hard on yourself, Gun. Actually, Azigarath can get his twenty year cape this April, to wear alongside his Classic hood for no one to care about. Then, I think that old, purple-skinned oaf can give away all his money and finally ride off into the sunset, whilst his daughter, Demonica, gives away all her money and finally goes the opposite direction, to settle down beyond the sleeping moon.

In case anyone's wondering why the title is so odd, Rune is a reference to this website and the medieval fantasy aspect, whereas Lume is a modern term referring to glowing details in modern wristwatches, referencing the future and our scifi RPs.

I wasn't well known, but I was around through much of the roleplay forum's history. Even after I quit actively roleplaying I would still visit the forums at least once every couple weeks to skim threads and just look around.

My sincere thanks to all those that made my time here great. Nauset, Murky (Jonny), Vash, and many more.

One final shout out to 'Deus Ex Machina'. The only thread I've been on that actually finished its story. (I vaguely remember it hitting 2k posts then finishing the story within a thousand post of the second thread.) Vay Fost was the character I played, not well mind you, but I still had a blast. Thank you, Jonny.

Part of me wanted to make a new thread, but then I’d be killing another one, so here it goes.

I guess this is the final farewell. It makes me feel really old, not recognizing hardly any of the names here now, including many/all of the ones other people are listing. It's been a long time since I used this forum but it was such a big part of my life. Through it I found community, which led to pretty much the entirety of my online presence, almost without exception, to this day. I still talk to people I met through The Word, and the people who I met because of people in The Word. Daily. I work in film now, but my love of storytelling that led me down that path was really fostered here. This forums impact on me can't be understated.

This whole thing is bittersweet. I've archived my own projects but I feel horrible for those who aren't aware that the forums are closing, and may miss the chance to save their work, even if just for the memories. I am going to try and save as much as I can, and hope I can get in touch with many of the old faces. One day. Until then... a shout out to some of the people that meant something to me because of this forum...

Blue x95, Wave Slayer, Dragontart, Dreamweaver, Bawabowa, Englishkid, Capt, Ciao, Letters, Xan, Eisen, Gom, OHS, Ree, Arcot, Zade, Trebor, Taunter, Wizzy, Lance, and many many more names I unfortunately can't think of at this very moment. And a special mention for Paccy, Mk, and Yenklet, all met because of this forum and its community. You were all some of my best friends, and even though I still have some contact with all of you, it kills me how we've grown apart. That's just the way life goes sometimes.
