Back from my backyard, spent some time doing a little blacksmithing and yard work. I noticed that there's somewhat of a limit to have thin you can hammer a railway spike, about 5mm. No matter how hard to smash the railway spike into the edge of the anvil, it just refuses to go any thinner (when it's orange-hot). My little bearded axe/tomahawk head is almost done, I just need to shape it a bit better, then hammer a hole through the back, by heating it orange-hot then hammering a cold iron spike through the back. My little seax is almost done as well, though the curvature kinda went off, but oh well, it's my first time making a small axe and a rather thick-bladed knife.
I will start posting after supper, as I skipped breakfast before forging, so am pretty hungry after almost three hours of breathing fumes, smoke and embers. I also found out potatoes don't make good charcoal, they don't even make fire!
